To go to A&E/Badger?

Posting here for traffic, sorry.

Just noticed this on 5.5 year old DD, have been playing in the sunshine today and took lots of photos, none of which this shows in, so it’s appeared rather quickly.

no other symptoms, but it isn’t fading under a glass, and health anxiety is making me feel I should contact 111 or head to badger for it?

One part of me thinks it looks like she’s bashed it maybe off something, but it’s how quick it’s came up that’s throwing me off course.

any advice is appreciated.

Badger?

ToKittyornottoKitty · 05/04/2025 18:52

Google heat rash and see if it looks like that as that can creep out in the sun

SallyD00lally · 05/04/2025 18:52

It will post, you just have to wait for auto approval.

What is 'badger'?

RosesAndHellebores · 05/04/2025 18:53

Sorry op, has she been near badgers and you are worried about TB?

Hazeby · 05/04/2025 18:55

Heat rash probably. Does she have any other symptoms?

AquaPeer · 05/04/2025 18:56

it looks like she’s caught it on a hedge or bush

I wouldn’t seek any medical attention for it- why do you think you need to? Is there something else going on?

reachermarry · 05/04/2025 18:57

Oh no sorry, badger is like a walk in clinic - I do apologise 😂

ThePinkPowerRangers · 05/04/2025 18:58

It doesn’t look like anything. She probably caught it on something.

reachermarry · 05/04/2025 18:58

@AquaPeer

as I say, I do have health anxiety, and personal issues have been creeping in recently, so I may be over reacting which I do completley understand.

it’s just the colouring and the fact it doesn’t fade that’s scared me.

Bruises don’t fade though… it looks like a very minor bruise.

reachermarry · 05/04/2025 18:59

It’s just how fast it’s popped up too, but i dont know I’ve never seen a bruise Timelapse, I’ve woke up with a bruise I’ve no recollection of doing.

Omg it’s a scratch or something. No need for anything.

This is literally nothing OP, do not waste walk ins time for a tiny bruise

AquaPeer · 05/04/2025 19:01

It doesn’t look like a rash at all. I think it’s your health anxiety OP. Please don’t waste a light sunny Saturday night dragging your daughter about chasing round medics

ThePinkPowerRangers · 05/04/2025 19:01

But she’s perfectly well, right? No other symptoms? Kids get bruises, marks, spots, scratches, even rashes. It’s barely a rash, it looks like a mark from catching herself or something rubbing. It doesn’t mean it’s anything, especially on a very well child. This is your anxiety. If it was my child this wouldn’t even register.

lawsly · 05/04/2025 19:02

contact your gp on Monday to discuss your health anxiety.

SeriouslyWhataMess · 05/04/2025 19:02

Roll a glass over it. If it fades under the pressure, it’ll just be something she managed to do whilst playing. If it doesn’t fade at all, or more appears, head to a&e. Trust your instincts.

TokyoSushi · 05/04/2025 19:03

It looks fine to me, just keep an eye on it.

Offtobuttonmoontovisitmrspoon · 05/04/2025 19:03

If she’s otherwise well just keep an eye on it.

Health anxiety is really horrible, I feel for you.

oakl79 · 05/04/2025 19:04

She's just caught her arm on something that's all. Please don't waste medical time, there are people who really need it.

You don’t need to head to a&e. A scratch or bruise won’t disappear under a glass.

Plus there are other rashes that don’t disappear under a glass that aren’t meningitis. A rash that doesn’t disappear is a symptom to be considered with others, it doesn’t mean had to a&e whenever you have a mark on your body that doesn’t disappear under a glass!

I’m under help for my health anxiety, but unfortunately it isn’t a quick treatment

SallyD00lally · 05/04/2025 19:06

Please get help for your health anxiety OP before you pass it onto your daughter.

It wouldn't enter my head in a month of Sundays to get that looked at.
