Lighthearted…
What’s been the most silly things you’ve been heavily criticised for on mumsnet?

Being a ‘competitive undereater’ - which I had never heard of at the time because I dared to say I can’t manage a three course meal these days as I get too full. I’m not a skinny minny, I am a curvy 12/14 so it was abject nonsense.

We all need to respect each other’s thought processes, but… frozen sandwiches, really??

We did frozen not freezed sandwiches in my job. Put it in the toaster, cooks it like a panini

When if there are people who disagree with my opinion or dislike it, they can move on.

Someone tried to single me out on a thread which wasn't mine, mentoring me also that I post quite few comments ....that is bonkers, it's free forum, I wasn't rerouting the thread abd having 4 instead 3 comments doesn't mean they cannot move on

I was called all the names under the sun for calling dps dd 'an evil, spiteful little bitch'

I stand by it-she pulled some awful stunts to break dp and I up,didn't expect to work (we where meant to pay her way for every single whim and kiss her arse at all times) and caused so much trouble, simply for her own amusement

When I said she should get a job and pay a tiny amount of rent, she went scorched earth on me (my own dc all got jobs and all paid a small amount in housekeeping at her age)

She contacted my narcissistic family (who I'm nc with) telling them so many lies, which in turn caused so much trouble for me,ditto my friends (they ignored her) and as her final hurrah, she found some 'personal photos' on dps laptop and sent them to every member of my family, their friends, her mother, her grandad,my workplace/colleagues and then put them on the Internet

I was in the wrong for not kissing her arse, paying her way (on utter crap like taxis, plants, food she didn't eat, posh oat/almond milks she didn't drink and her nails and hair) but she wasn't in the wrong for not even thinking of getting a job and sitting around on the sofa waiting for a rich man to marry

I was paying for her food (about 3/4 she'd demand what to buy but didn't eat but just binned it) clothes (that she'd just dump on the floor or cut them up) and her phone

She was 18 at the time-plenty old enough to get a part time job and pay her own way (I wasn't asking the earth-just £25 a week)

That I would have supported but I'm damned if I'm slogging my guts out at work to pay for a spoilt brat who was trying her hardest to destroy my life and very almost succeeded

I guess some people had evil stepmother and I took the brunt of it

Horrible to hear but what father did in all these events .....and why he didn't cough up

Two times come to mind, one literally today! A mad poster took my comment that I will begrudgingly getting my children a cat for Christmas, partly to help my eldest still believe but mainly to help my youngest who we suspect is on the spectrum as he loves cats, and they help him feel calm (MIL has 3 cats and he spends a lot of time with them).

I'm not an animal lover but, you know, noy a psychopath so said cat will be very well cared for in my home but they were ranting about how people like me shouldn't have pets/a cat.

The other one was years ago, I was venting about how my quite rubbish hen do upset me. I was called a bridezilla and told my marriage was just for social media and I would shortly be divorced. Sorry but we are happily married nearly 10 years later!
