There was Kewcumber who adopted from abroad as a single lady, there was a mum who always talked about her son Wilf, and there was a very direct, blunt and often right woman who I think wrote with no punctuation, who seemed to be on every thread and gave me lots of harsh truths! Going back a good decade now…

Anyone know what happened to them? Anyone else you wonder about?

Definitely remember Anyfucker and Worra. I remember thinking this must be like their full time job. But on a thread about 6 years ago Anyfucker give me some of the best, direct advice I've ever had and I still think about it regularly. It honestly saved my marriage. (Even though I probably wasn't the most fond of her otherwise!)

Catthiefkieth died. She was so funny 💔

That was so sudden and sad.

justasking111 · 02/04/2025 22:09

We had a few overseas members, warm climates, beaches, wonderful foods, lifestyle. I used to enjoy those threads.

MrsCobbit · 02/04/2025 22:09

Loved Cod - so funny! Wonder where Marsmum is - she was cool

sixnearlyseven · 02/04/2025 22:10

Wilf lives in the area I used to live in Kent, he is in his 20s and lives a happy life , and is very popular in the community

AnyFucker still posts

GarlicSmile · 02/04/2025 22:11

I'm still in touch with Riven. The Child's still in and out of hospital, now a young adult against all the odds. Riven still can't rely on carers turning up, is still battling her own health problems and periodically 'disappears' for long periods.

I was in touch with Hully and others on various channels for years after the moldie debacle, but it was all fragmented and sort of fizzled out. I bet some have stayed firm friends, though.

NormasArse · 02/04/2025 22:12

Who was the poster with the brown decor? I liked her!

There was also one from Silverdale (or might’ve had a second home there).

TroysMammy · 02/04/2025 22:04

I remember a few bonkers posts from I think Phyllisnights, unsure of spelling.

I rarely enjoy trolls, but her and Norland Nanny/Miss Loadsmoney were very entertaining for a while. No one tries to be entertaining anymore in their colossal BSing. I blame the cost of living making it too unbelievable.

ImAnAutum · 02/04/2025 22:12

@Izzy24 really? I haven't noticed her in ages!

ScrambledSmegs · 02/04/2025 22:13

Zombie. She was absolutely lovely to me when I was a naive —twat— newbie. I wish I’d chatted more with her when she was alive.

ScrambledSmegs · 02/04/2025 22:14

Ah ffs, messed up the strikethrough. I should just give up now.

NormasArse · 02/04/2025 22:14

Getorfmyland (Sp?). Is she still around?

ExitPursuedByABare · 02/04/2025 22:14

True. Zombie was lovely.

Netmumnet · 02/04/2025 22:15

I'm newish to Mumsnet so have no-one to reminisce about, but believe I know what Wilf you are talking about.

I've seen him post his love for Percy Pig in some Facebook groups (like extreme couponing), he seems to have a FB presence.

GaryTheGoat · 02/04/2025 22:16

Cat Keith thief or very similar died really young 😥

GarlicSmile · 02/04/2025 22:16

I was just going to mention Zombie, @ScrambledSmegs! Do you recall when she drove through the night to rescue a poster trying to leave a violent partner? Everyone was telling her not to, asking MNHQ to call the police (!?!) and many being quite horrible to her. She saved the woman 🤗

I’ve never paid attention to any usernames on here.. is that only me?

Came to say the same thing

JustWalkingTheDogs · 02/04/2025 22:17

Lily007, she was so inspiring. Her DH of 20
odd years left for his affair partner and she just left him to it. A lady with such grace and dignity.

Ghostlygirl · 02/04/2025 22:17

I liked Marmalade Twatkins’ posts. I hope Daughter Drowning In Junk is okay, I still think about her.

Overhaul54 · 02/04/2025 22:17

KarlaKK · 02/04/2025 21:44

I can't even remember my old names never mind anyone else's 😀Some do ring a bell but I couldn't independently be able to say someone's name from the past.

Me neither. Been here years ( can't remember that either)
For me the predicable posters are the worse bit. I enjoy the variety of opinion from randoms.

FelixLighter · 02/04/2025 21:09

i liked worraliberty

Me too! I almost always agreed with her.

ProustianMadeleine · 02/04/2025 21:10

Ugh. Not another one of these fucking "pick me" threads idolising posters from old.
Get a grip.

There’s nothing wrong with remembering women who’ve advised and supported each other in moments of need.

Deckedoutside · 02/04/2025 22:18

I've been posting under one account/username or other for the best part of 12 years now. Hate the thought of being identified so change names and accounts regularly. Half these 'famous' names were extremely rude when I posted a list of food id eaten prior to having an upset stomach and embarrassing occurrence happened to me requiring me to need to change clothes (a repeat occurrence in my life at the time). Ended up with the thread taken down by Mumsnet due to the pile on and mass reports insisting 'they could always tell who was a troll, OG posters always know' etc. Well - they couldn't tell. I was and still am a genuine person who has thankfully since discovered that dairy was the culprit.

lifeisacat · 02/04/2025 22:19

AnyoneWhoHasAHeart · 02/04/2025 21:16

Riven. She was essentially driven off of MN when posters took it upon themselves to share her very personal story to the tabloids.

@misdee whose DH went through heart transplant. We all were routing for her DH when a heart became available. And now I’m in the same position - in hospital on the urgent list.

Misdee’s husband is still with us. She’s a superstar:)
