To take DD 5 to McDonald's every other weekend?

She's gluten free, so has a portion of small chips and either a small mcflurry or orange juice or sauce with the chips.

We go after swimming.

This is ok, right? My friend thinks it's awful that she goes twice a month. But it's not like she's having the processed bread and cheese and stuff all the time?

And further......McD's are actually doing a hell of a lot better than many.

Have you directed your ire about animal welfare at Brakes? No. Because you dont know who they are and I can tell you (because I do know who they are) that their food is supplied with far less welfare than McD's. Why? Because no one cares enough to look into their supply chain. McD's know that they have to be unimpeachable in that respect, so they make sure that they are. But people like you, for reasons I cannot fathom, seem to take great delight in trying to take down large corporations that you dont approve of.

Do some of your extensive research on Brakes and their suppliers. McD's are small fry (pun intended) by comparison. Next time you have a "nice pub lunch" with your kids or mates or mum, its very likely Brakes food you are eating.

Mmm
Id disagree
People have different reasons for liking or disliking different things
Ive given ( as have others ) a reason and maybe even some additional knowledge.

Honestly, the lack of reading comprehension among the British public is concerning.

Do you really not see the difference between people who could qualify for life insurance but can’t YET afford it, and therefore should postpone procreation, vs people who through no fault of their own will never qualify and therefore should postpone until they find some other way to secure their child’s future should they die? Be it an appointed guardian or substantial savings or other means.

The point is that no one should be producing human beings without significant contingency planning. Yet sadly, so many irresponsible people do, and then (while expecting the taxpayers to support them) claim they are victims of fate rather than of their own poor choices.

The adults in the room understand exactly what I mean.

You are SO out of touch with reality

Many dont have insurance or savings before kids

Many dont own a home before kids
Many dont have some high flying career - hell i never wanted one, i just wanted a job that i go in, do my hours and come home, i dont need advancement or some super high salary

If you had all that before kids, you are in a super small minority

What you seem to be suggesting is that woman who dont have all the above shouldn't even have sex cos of the pregnancy risk - which is completely illogical as we have sex for more than just having kids

I dont know how anyone can be so anal about life and claim they happy

I don't have any issue with the snack itself, for me it's that McD is selling absolute shite and I don't want my kids to think this is "food".

Unless your children are very stupid, they will be able to see, as we all can, that it is clearly, demonstrably, food.

Food that may not be to your taste, food that should not be eaten too often, but food. If they are both not stupid and also have some empathy for others they'll realise to some it's a treat.

Indeed we do. I have excellent reading comprehension.

You are a condescending prick who thinks they have all the answers to life.

You do not. Life is not all about money. My parents had more than enough in place to secure our futures if they died.

Do you think that i would have been a happy person if my parents died, simply because there was now money for me?

Do you think I would have 100% ended up as a person able to contribute to society if my parents had died, just because they left me with money?

Or, do you think that if my parents died when I was young, no matter what money was left, that would have had more of an impact on me than whether I had McDonald's every month or whether they could afford to give me an apple instead of a plate of frozen chips?

You're saying that everyone who can't afford to leave children money when the unexpected happens are bad parents. That is what all your posts boil down to. If you think EVERYONE is misunderstanding you, that's not our comprehension, it's your ability to put the correct words to the page.

People who can raise functioning, independent adults should be parents. People who cannot shouldn't. And having read almost every one of your posts, from you own beliefs, your parents shouldn't have had children. Because you informed us you come from a not well off background and we all know that means your future wasn't secured.

This has to be the most batshit thread ever, parents being berated for not regularly feeding their children McDonalds 🤣 What next, call social services if you don't force at least one hour of screen time a day on your kids 😂😂😂

Parents are being berated for being judgemental and condescending, not because they don't feed their kids McDonald's.

I have given my child McDonald's maybe three times in her life, because none of us really enjoy it. But I am one of the people saying it's not bad parenting to let your kid eat some chips every 2 weeks after exercise.

Because... it's not.

This from the Humane League.

That still doesn't apply to the here and now in the UK. When the human league are asked precisely what the chicken industry is supposed to do with male chicks (the main reason they score so many retailers low), they don't have an answer.

As you have no idea who we/ I campaign against your comment is a bit weird.
Of note if we eat out we won’t be eating any animals from Brakes as we don’t eat animals.

PinkPonyClubber · 03/04/2025 12:47

You are clearly wrong, she should be getting a cup of soup (salt) from the vending machine at the baths like we had to in the 80s.

My child is 16 and actually coeliac. She’s never eaten at McDonald’s, not once!
