Tell me I'm not still considered a young mum this time round

Afternoon all.

For background I had my first child at 15 and am now 23 pregnant with my second.

I'd been looking forward to not having to deal with people staring at me, making rude comments and making mum friends my age.

Only to read threads on here where people are saying under 25 is way too young to be a mum and the youngest mum they know is 29 etc!

I'm not far enough along to go to antenatal classes yet but please tell me I will not be the youngest there.

I had my first baby at 22 and my second at 24, I think the age has increased a little since I was having my babies but I think that is due to younger people finding it hard to move into their own place due to cost of living.

I was 22 when I had my DD (now 13) and the looks I got off strangers and the amount of friends and family who looked down their noses at me shocked me! I'm now 35 and I've never had another baby but it makes me laugh that I'd be considered a geriatric mother if I were to get pregnant now! People need to keep their opinions on ages to themselves, as long as you are a good mum and love your children that's all that should matter!

Well yes, even if I live until 87, which is unlikely, surely those last 20 years are a bit shit compared to your 20’s and 30’s?
I do feel a bit like it’s all downhill from here to be honest. Maybe I’m having a midlife crisis?!

As soon as I passed 35 I felt very old. Maybe it is to do with having my kids young. Maybe having kids when you’re older makes you feel young, who know. But I definitely feel far from young.

I'm 61, having the best time of my life. My mum is 91. The last 20 years were good for her, surrounded by children and grandchildren, enjoying life. How could the best bit of your life be over at 37- I find that really sad.

In my circle of friends you’d be a young mum, most friends/family started their families at 30-33, but then there are certainly advantages to having children younger! I’d have ideally had my first around 28, but I wasn’t in the financial position to have a baby. That might have meant we’d have been able to have the third baby we wanted and I think my body would have coped better!

I didn't have my first until I was 34 - still squeezed three in!

You're so fortunate. I'm the same age as you and my mum would be 10 years younger than yours. It's coming up on 20 years since we lost her.
