What is?

Graciously means "in a courteous, kind, and pleasant manner."

You can graciously decline.

Comedycook · 21/03/2025 20:22

Mustard mitt, I thought it was graciously.

I've never heard that. It's graciously.

EffortlesslyInelegant · 21/03/2025 20:22

In the grand scheme of things this gripe is a mere bagatelle.

Now if you'd like to talk about the difference between 'less' and 'fewer' I'm in!

ScrewedByFunding · 21/03/2025 20:23

This is also AIBU.

Just saying.

BatchCookBabe · 21/03/2025 20:24

Of course it's 'graciously' decline 😆 It's not 'gracefully' decline.

How embarrassing! 😬

LaPalmaLlama · 21/03/2025 20:27

Pretty sure you decline graciously and age gracefully

Wanderdust · 21/03/2025 20:28

Never heard of gracefully decline. Are you thinking of gratefully accept?!

Montymorency · 21/03/2025 20:28

you see you're grammatically incorrect. i expect you also pronounce the letter h 'haitch' . i rest my case.

Can you justify this please because we all think you are wrong.

Pretty sure you decline graciously and age gracefully

surely that should be age "disgracefully" @LaPalmaLlama 😉

eta; omitted word

GRex · 21/03/2025 20:32

You can gracefully decline, or decline graciously. I prefer to go along myself, there is far more fun to be had in turning up than there is in turning down the bed.

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 21/03/2025 20:40

Ah, here we go. It's Friday night.
Start your sentences with a capital.
And then go to bed.

DownWhichOfLate · 21/03/2025 20:43

Myself would disagree. (Why? Why do people use “myself” when they mean “I”?!)

TitusMoan · 21/03/2025 20:45

You’re wrong, but I think you know that…

TheRoundTable1983 · 21/03/2025 20:46

It’s graciously, sorry.

farmlife2 · 21/03/2025 20:47

It's been gracefully all my life.

Decline with grace. Gracious is more about generosity so you'd be declining graciously if you didn't want to but were doing it to be kind to the host.

Are you also resting from the use of capital letters to start sentences?

Jade520 · 21/03/2025 20:48

Surely it's gratefully decline. Maybe you can grandly decline? or greedily decline? Maybe as long as the word begin gr you can decline in any way you like.

ChunkyMunck · 21/03/2025 20:49

I always gratefully decline 😬

If we wanted to be as picky and pedantic as you, we would say a sentence begins with an upper case letter @Montymorency Wink

People in glass houses and all that.........

I disagree. However, that is eclipsed by the fact you have failed to capitalise your sentences, so that renders your point invalid, I'm afraid.

So wrong. Hilariously determined that they're right though! 😆
