Having this cold snap in March is really miserable and sucks

Solidarity OP. I hate March (and April for that matter too) because I've had ENOUGH of the cold. It's been five months of freezing fingers (Raynaud's syndrome) and I'm over it. Also no one ever tries to jolly you along into thinking January is "lovely" but apparently the sun shining in March means it doesn't matter that it's FIVE FUCKING DEGREES outside. DP tried to make me go for a walk at the weekend and huffed when I point blank refused to set foot outside the door.

Yanbu. But it always happens.

Where I live we were really spoilt with the lovely weather a few weeks ago. Still bloody cold in the evenings though!

Comedycook · 17/03/2025 12:24

It's not been too bad imo. Don't know what part of the country you're in op...but we've had a few days recently of mid teens temperature. It's predicted to be 18/19 degrees this week here in London. I can't wait!

March is often unpredictable though. One of my dcs birthday is in march. One year we had a BBQ in the garden... another year it was snowing!

I'm just glad it isn't raining!! So lovely to come back from dog walks without half a ton of mud on my boots and/or muddy jeans from slipping over Grin

Does no one remember the first lockdown in March? It was gorgeous and everyone went mad ordering hot tubs and outdoor furniture. I think that was a bit of a one off though - I've driven to wales at the end of March in a snowstorm (I reckon about 8 years ago) I remember on the radio as we were driving there it said that loads of lambs had died due to the freak cold snap 😔

I've heard that said about April. We still often get frosts in April

March - “if it comes in like a lion it goes out like a lamb, if it comes in like a lamb it goes out like a lion.”
It’s a proverb that’s been around for centuries - as a transitional month with the vernal equinox it’s generally a very changeable months with sharp icy frosts and occasional warm a lovely spells

The tail end of this week will be nice and mild, @TakeawayAugust so you haven’t got long to wait.

(April is “April showers” traditionally)

We have 16 degrees and rain forecast for Thursday and Friday. I shan't be shaving my legs just yet.
