To be uncomfortable after my manager went on a rant about how much she hates Meghan Markle during a team meeting?

So, today, in our team meeting, my manager went on a full-on rant about how much she hates Meghan Markle. It seemed completely out of place and unnecessary, especially considering the meeting was meant to be about work. It got a bit awkward and no one really knew how to react.

I get that people have opinions but I just felt like it was unprofessional to bring something like that up during a work meeting. It felt like a personal issue being projected onto everyone else.

AIBU to feel uncomfortable about this or is it just me being overly sensitive?

The continuous rewriting of history when it comes to Meghan Markle would be funny if not so serious. The constant ' I only turned against her when she upset the Queen, when she made Kate cry' etc is a load of bullshit.
The media along with much commentary dripped with racism right from the start. How many threads were deleted on here especially in the Royal family section because of racist commentary? The denial that it existed back then is racist in itself. Not all but a substantial amount of commentary.

I posted in response to an earlier question asking why M&H don't show their children. It's because of many threats made to kill them. There are people in jail for those threats. That response as far as I am aware has been ignored. Yet had it been any of the other children in that family there would be regular headlines. Doesn't suit the agenda.

A regular customer in the pub I used to work in would wax lyrical about Meghan Markle and how much he hated her almost constantly.
One day I simply said: “You hate her so much but she seems to be your favourite topic of conversation. What’s that all about?” 🫠😂

He never mentioned her in front of me again 😂

What a ridiculous statement! I certainly don’t like her but it has absolutely nothing to do with the colour of her skin. I don’t know her so my opinion is based on what I’ve seen of her and what I’ve read about her.
she comes across as a lot of Americans do and being very self orientated and fame hungry. Her actions scream of someone desperate for fame. They go through all the fuss of leaving the UK because they don’t want the press intrusion and they crave privacy but all their actions since have been the absolute opposite! A tell all book, an explosive interview, too many documentaries and TV series that grace the Netflix screens, the string of family members that she’s disowned etc. I unfortunately think she saw Harry as an opportunity and grabbed it with both hands. Absolutely noting to do with her colour in the slightest.

How do you know the difference? She’s a pretty unlikable character, and the racism they claim (then unclaimed, then claimed again) isn’t backed up by anything really except American’s misunderstanding of British words.

Of course people have issue with your comment, you can pretend “Ph I didn’t mean you” all you like but blanket statements like that are provocative and frankly, the trappings of a dim person.

Unfortunately I have met a few Markle derangers in real life. One friend we have agreed she cannot mention her to me.

On any other topic she is calm, reasonable and rational. Then the topic of Markle comes up and bloody hell. She loses it.

I cannot say I have a few on her either way and from little I see of her in the public eye she is not somebody I would be friends with but the level of hatred and insistance on knowing the ins and outs of her relationship with Harry are just weird. The tone of some comments are also a tad misogynistic.
