What’s everyone up to this weekend? :) it’s actually a sunny one here lots of washing out and maybe some gardening :)

OP posts:

Up early today and out for breakfast in town. Then I visited the library and did some shopping - mainly taking stuff back to M and S. But found a lovely olive green leather woven intrecciato bag in T K Maxx and also a reduced leather belt.

Yesterday my daughter and I were unsuccessful in finding a spring light-ish jacket for her, but I found a cream denim one reduced today, so very pleased with that.

Back home and have done a small load of laundry, mainly to wash a couple of knitted Vinted items received in the post today. Looking forward to a g and t soon.

Tomorrow we're going to see my brother-in-law and take him out to lunch. He's on his own, so try to catch up with him every month or so. So a nice weekend.

Stunning day here AGAIN, I feel on top of the world! Hung out this morning, went to work, just came home, parents are staying this weekend so their massive annoying dog is here but even that isn’t bringing me down. Kids piano lesson and 2x cricket tomorrow but going to try and get out for a lush walk!

Peanut91 · 08/03/2025 16:23

I have spent the day painting my garden fence while the kids play in the garden. Tomorrow we are meeting friends for a picnic and play in the park and then to my parents for the first BBQ of the year

InTheBalmyMidwinter · 08/03/2025 16:23

Done gardening. Currently watching Ireland v France 6 nations and it's a corker: 13/15. If France win, England's still in with a chance ...

Lookingforwardto2025 · 08/03/2025 16:25

Ran my first ever parkrun with my DS who was also doing it for the first time. Then home, shower, dressed and off out to meet my pregnant friend and her husband at a National Trust property. Got home just after 3 and did a bit of pruning in the garden. Now relaxing and feeling very happy :)

I've been in Tampere with my brother, went there yesterday and visited the Finnish Workers museum which also had a very sobering exhibition on the Holodomor, and today we met up with an old friend of our mum's and visited the museum of Finnish-Russian relations (formerly the Lenin museum, but they changed it after Russia invaded Ukraine) which was an interesting exhibition about the difficult relationship.

Went to an Irish bar last night that I used to frequent as a student, and before the train home today we went up to a sky bar in a hotel and had cocktails while enjoying the view.

Tomorrow I'll take DS to circus school and in the afternoon I think I'll go for a walk, but nothing else as I'm knackered now.

Took DD riding this morning, then popped into town to get some blackout lining for our new bedroom curtains.

Grabbed a coffee and some lunch, picked DD up then came home and sorted some life admin out. Just put our Ocado order away. Now DH and DSs are gaming, DD is watching Netflix in her room and I'm wasting time on here. Will build my Christmas lego in a minute, then we're having crispy duck pancakes for dinner this evening.

Might watch a film with DH/DD and have some snacks later.

LolaLouise · 08/03/2025 16:55

working nights, the only downside to spring and summer is it already being light when i leave work in the morning, i like coming home in the dark

HerRoyalNotness · 08/03/2025 16:57

8 he drive to visit a uni with my son. Was supposed to travel back Sunday but couldn’t find anything to do to fill the day today, so driving back a day early. We looked at other towns we could visit in the surrounding area that might be interesting and the closest was 4hrs. 5.5hrs to a national park we fancied, 4.5hrs to a mountain we were recommended. Gave up 😂

We are celebrating both our dds birthday and our wedding anniversary today. We have a houseful of her friends over to celebrate her birthday for another half hour or so, and then we are celebrating our anniversary this evening.
Tomorrow we are hoping to make a start on getting the gardens straightened up.

WatchingTheClowns · 08/03/2025 17:35

2 lots of washing on the line, bedroom vacuumed, some ironing done. Child-minding tomorrow, so lunch at home then a nice park and feeding the ducks.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 08/03/2025 17:40

Sunny dog walk this morning. Just got back from a really good (classical) concert. Maybe board games or a film with dh & ds this evening. Tomorrow supermarket, planning and marking, housework.

Did all three of those things happen on the same day? Or were they just close in days?

Mimilamore · 08/03/2025 17:46

Walk at riverside a couple of towns over, it's an estuary really so quite dramatic. Coffee there and then back home via supermarket for some beetroot and coleslaw ( it's the sun) Walk along our seafront with friend and flask before dinner, now bath soak and a bit of TV.

ByCoralDreamer · 08/03/2025 17:46

DD gatecrashed our 4th wedding anniversary. On the plus side, DH won't ever be able to forget our anniversary date. He has a permanent reminder that gives a countdown of days left each year until the day is here 😂 When she was born, the midwife pointed out to DH that he had better get saving because our 25th anniversary and our DDs 21st birthday fall on the same day.
It's funny because our DS was born on the 4th anniversary of our engagement too.

My DH gets nervous whenever we approach the 3yr 3month mark of any significant date just in case another baby arrives on another 4th anniversary.😂

meatandtwo · 09/03/2025 13:39

@dontforgetme I promised to come back with gif details.
LB were great although they didn't come on until nearly 10pm (doors opened 6.30pm). Warm up acts were varied, some fantastic. Weird host person between each band who was presumably meant to be funny and entertaining but it just fell flat. The whole crowd were booing him and some were even throwing things at him 😳 A lot of folk vaping throughout the show and some smoking weed too which felt uncomfortable given a lot of people had kids with them! A very mixed experience but overall a good gig. Not sure it was with the ticket price though. Merch normally priced at £70 a hoodie and £30 a tee, not much variety but decent quality. Smile

meatandtwo · 09/03/2025 13:39

*gig not gif

dontforgetme · 09/03/2025 14:21

@meatandtwo host sounds very strange? Don't think I've ever been to a gig with a host before! Fred Durst was a huge teenage crush of mine! Still is I think Grin

Auburngal · 09/03/2025 14:22

Yesterday, visited Peterborough Cathedral for the Longest Yarn. It's 80m of knitted displays of events around D-Day. It's the last place its visiting the UK, then to USA before its final and permanent place in France. Went to see it in Southwell Minster last year and so clever.

This morning, did a group pick with the Wombles where we picked 135 bags including huge fly tips. Got home, showered and did some online assessments for an interview tomorrow afternoon.

Gogogo12345 · 09/03/2025 14:23

Working yesterday, went to first bootsale of the year this morning. .At moment stuck on sofa as cat asleep on my lap

meatandtwo · 09/03/2025 14:23

@dontforgetme host was definitely a strange choice. Felt like a compère at a comedy gig but definitely didn't work for the tone of the show. Fred was great though and still sounded exactly the same as he always did, really good to see them live and glad we did it.

AlpacaMittens · 09/03/2025 14:26

Garden all weekend
Then hip + back pain all week
