Why can’t I find a tent to comfortably fit 5 people?

Any campers got any advice?
I am looking for a tent for two adults, two pre teens (boys) and one teenager.(girl)

Looking for:
All in one tent (teen doesn’t want to camp alone)
3 rooms - must fit 2 in each room. Needed for privacy for teen DD.
Nightfall bedrooms
built in groundsheet.

All the tents I’ve found with 3 rooms, the sizes 2 of the rooms have been 120cm wide. How can you even fit a double air bed into that? Air beds are 137cm wide 🫤
I don’t get it.

Bell tent, you can buy inner tents for them from memory although we never had the inners. I think they cut the space down quite a lot

We have a Zenobia hi Gear 8 man tent for 5 of us. You can have 2 big bedrooms or split the bedrooms into 2 to make 4. You can fit a double airbed in each of the 4 rooms.

Also came on to say bell tent - love mine! You can use room dividers or pup tents inside

There are loads! We have a Telstar 8 nightfall for 6 of us and it feels spacious. 4 x single beds and 1 bunk beds set. The forth bedroom hasn't been needed yet.

We have the vango case lux, two big bedrooms and a third smaller one which would be fine for one dc. It’s a huge tent though!

we find that you need to look for more sleeping space than you actually need, so for 5 of you look for tents that sleep 7/8.

We’ve got a Berghaus air 4 which is obviously way too small for you but we love it - so I looked at other Berghaus air tents and this one might fit the bill? Air tent - pricey though!

You need to look for 8berth tents. Kampa do some nice big old air tent that meet what you want. Also if you just have a big tent you could just pop a pup tent in the livingroom.

Look for a tent marked as 6XL. 3 bedrooms
But more space than a standard 6 person.

We have a 6 berth tent for 4 of us and it fits the right amount of air beds - I think it's just standard for tents you need to size up by 2-3 people!

As a family of 5 we've got a Kampa Studland air 8 man and a Decathlon 6.3 air I think. Both have enough sleeping space, I currently have me and DH in one pod, DS 1&2 (13&9) in the 2nd then DD in the 3rd. We downsized to the Decathlon one a couple of summers ago as European camping meant we wanted more outside space on our pitch whereas UK camping meant we were grateful for more indoor space.

I can give you a recommendation but it's about £1500 so you wouldn't be talking about buying it for a one-off trip

We have this one and love it. Super easy to put up and down and a double mattress fits in every bedroom. Plus black out.

We love ours - this is not my sale post btw and is just an example of the Voyager 6.

Looks amazing but way out of budget. We only go for a couple of short trips a year so can’t justify the high price tag 2k new wow!

I mean what you are asking for is an expensive tent brand new if you want high quality that will last.

Unfortunately unless you want to go old school pole tent they just don’t last as long either. Otherwise for longevity you want any type of canvas tent “cheaply” would be a bell tent but that’s zero bedrooms. Then you up into the most experience tents as the “posh” canvas air tents. Best quality longevity and can tick the boxes but they hit you in the pocket

Did you see PPs post OP? We have a decathlon tent (not this one, smaller) and it's brilliant, they're such good value.

this one has great reviews, Berghaus are a good make tent, and each of the large end rooms can be subdivided into two - looks good?
