WITH LOVE MEGHAN…

Ariadneslostthread · 05/03/2025 16:02

Who has been watching this?. I must admit I watched it out of interest rather than anything else. It was pleasant, it was like sinking into a Jacuzzi of warm water, bubbly, luxurious. But for me that’s where it ended. Watching Meghan tie up small bags of home-made bath salts for her friends visit, and then accompany them with shop bought pretzels, which she decanted into another plastic bag was….. enough. Oh yes, and the children’s gift bags….. with small sets of gardening tools, the cheapest of which I could find online was about £10, so well out of the way for any of us budget mums/aunts/grans. What do you think? Do you think she’ll have another series?…. Do you think “With love Meghan will fly” ? I’m just not sure what the point of it is ?. Everything she’s doing, others have done and better before. She’s a hugely wealthy woman, with not enough to do, showing us how she entertains her friends, amuses her children…… or is there more? Am I being unreasonable. If I am and you get the point of this syrupy, and I think frankly vacuous television , please explain it to me, I would value that explanation…….

I love it

Such a nice escape to just indulge into

ElatedShark · 05/03/2025 18:39

Oh gosh just leave the woman alone! You all no longer need to worry that there's a half black woman near your royal throne.
Just don't watch or follow what she's up to if you don't like her, that's what I do.

stayathomer · 05/03/2025 18:48

I used to watch Newlyweds in the 00s (Jessica Simpson). I didn’t watch it for her music so I have no idea why I watched it but couldn’t not! So I’m planning on watching this- it’s gotta beat the Kardashian’s which I used to watch sporadically but couldn’t handle due to their constant ‘oh my we’ve so much drama in our lives’ when they made all the drama!!!!

Chazoop · 05/03/2025 18:52

Errors · 05/03/2025 16:07

Sounds like insipid nonsense to me just like the Kardashians and their shite

If you watch the Kardashian's, they all have a lot more personality and sense of humour.
I've watched Meghan's show and it very dull, it's like she's awkward and doesn't know how to relax. She takes herself very seriously.
When mindy says "what's your looook" like pronounced spook. She sort of panics and you can tell she's on edge and not comfortable. I wonder if she didn't enjoy filming it as much as she envisaged.
I kind of feel a bit sorry for her. She's clearly a bit damaged.

Overhaul54 · 05/03/2025 19:03

It's an infomercial by all accounts. The" cooking" is to show off her range of shortbread, edible flowers and crepe mix...

The little sanctimonious lecture she gave her "friend" about her name being Sussex now is painful. I can't believe anyone let that make the final cut. It's painful to watch

But she never used Engelson? It seems a little vain to use Sussex just because it has royal links.

TwoSteppingInTexas · 05/03/2025 19:08

There are a lot of threads about this so it has certainly got a lot of people’s attention. It’s in the top 10 Netflix programmes at the moment as well. I hope it does well, just to annoy the Meghan hating people on here. They are weirdly obsessed. They claim to want her to go away, but what would they be left to talk about. She seems to be a hobby for them.

Hellebora · 05/03/2025 19:12

Same could be said about your thread, OP. I haven't watched it, don't care to but have seen (and hidden) multiple threads on it with the OP saying how awful it is. I wonder why.

MNHQ should consider merging threads talking about the same thing into one giant thread, like another forum does. It would stop OPs from wanting to chair their own piece of any trendy topic and will help with traffic too, I think.

Anyway, I'm off to hide this one too.

Ariadneslostthread · 05/03/2025 19:23

Hellebora .

Ooh, another bite-y little message from someone who didn’t read any of the other comments on the feed. Is desperately sad that people don’t familiarise themselves with what’s been said in a feed…. With peoples mental health a great concern these days, it’s impossible really to know how much damage a nasty comment can do. It was a throwaway post to get people chatting, as I explained (but you didn’t read) , because I’m in a place with poor Wi-Fi I didn’t know that there were other threads covering this. To be honest with the amount of negative comments that One can face on something like this, it’s unsurprising how this can affect peoples mental health, how people can be pushed over the edge by catty little comments. I think actually rather than delete this post, I’ll just dump being a mums netter. There have been some lovely positive comments to my idiocy in posting a duplicate post, equally there have been some really barbed ones. I’m not in a place to need that, so that’s me off

I watched one episode but couldn’t stomach any more. I skipped a lot of the one I did watch.
Watching her decant bath salts into containers and then harvest honey. And then she congratulated herself on what a lovely gesture it was.
I think the worst bit was when she decanted snacks from shop bought plastic into her own plastic bag and put a little hand made label on it. It was just so out of touch.
Even the cooking bits, it’s not like you could then make the things yourself as she wasn’t 100% clear on all the ingredients and steps.
The popcorn for example she got a dried corn on the cob and put it in the microwave.
Where did one get a dried corn on the cob? Are they just sold in shops in America? Do I need to dry it myself? Won’t be watching any more.

It was SHITE! 😆 I just cannot see the point of Meghan and Harry. I wish they would go away and live on a desert island .

Yet you watched their show??

CallMeFlo · 05/03/2025 19:27

😂😂 is that you Meghan

stayathomegardener · 05/03/2025 19:27

Well I quite liked it having watched the first 3.

Snipping the ribbon end into points, so obvious but I shall copy that, popping a whole corn cob and the chequered cake filling in episode one.
Episode two with Mindy there wasn't a good connection and a kids tea party without kids was a strange concept but I am inspired to grow more herbs and edible flowers.

Episode three I enjoyed her connection with the Korean chef, chicken recipe looked delicious but far too faffy, fermented foods were interesting and bring back crudities.

Overall she seemed self deprecating at times and the constant champagne cocktails were fun.

I kind of agree! I haven't watched it and won't, but all the hatred of them actually makes me want them to succeed. And yes I guess from Netflix perspective....everyone is talking about it.

Huckleberries · 05/03/2025 19:28

how has anyone had time to watch so much of this? I thought it came out yesterday.

I like Meghan. I don't watch cooking shows or home shows. I had a long day at work, dragged myself through a workout at the gym. came home and thought oh I'll watch it. I like her voice it's very soothing.

I don't know what I was expecting, but I thought it was lovely. I really like California and it was nice to watch the house and just nice to watch all the things they did. Nice soothing television. I don't know why it would annoy anyone. But if it does, just don't watch it.

stayathomegardener · 05/03/2025 19:31

@Ariadneslostthread I have asked Mumusnet to move this to another subject for you.

Sorry to read you are struggling.

TwoSteppingInTexas · 05/03/2025 19:32

The irony of the OP talking about mental health when she’s posted an unpleasant post which she knows will attract lots of negative comments from the Meghan hating obsessives. 🙄

I was so embarrassed for her, the cringe level was extremely high with that. She's just so unlikeable.

almondflake · 05/03/2025 20:52

@Ariadneslostthread Don't take the nasty comments to heart , people just love being smug and bitchy .
I asked about Outlander after I'd done a search on the topic and got a rude snippy reply about there being other threads .
Must admit I saw a clip of her program where she was tying hessian ribbon around jam jars and thought nah 😁

Or because she has children with Harry but didn't in her first marriage? If The Royals didn't want them to use it, they should have removed the title. Same with the kids being Prince/ Princess. They clearly either don't have a problem with it or don't want to do it for some other reason. If the Royals don't want to remove the titles thenbthey are entitled to use them. I don't know why other people are so animated about it whenbits upbto The King to tske them away and he hasn't.

I watched it tonight to see what it was all about. Painful.
It scored 2.5 out of 10 on IMDb , im not surprised. I suspect it's only in the top 10 on netflix as people like me watch it to see what people are talking about lol.

Socrateswasrightaboutvoting · 05/03/2025 21:50

Not sure why my post what deleted. The Royal Family section exists for people just like the OP. Is that not a big enough audience for their bile?

Socrateswasrightaboutvoting · 05/03/2025 21:53

How can you talk about mental health when you start at thread to encourage bile. Shut the door on your way out.
