I read all the way through your post in the hope that you had some understanding of the way things work, about the existence of the UN and NATO and the fact that historically, several pacts have been drawn up to ensure that if the UK, or any of our ALLIES are attacked there will be guaranteed aid and support from the other member states!! 🙄
These pacts and allegiances are nothing to do with and predate the European Union, most go back as far as the end of World War 1.
Nobody would deny that the state of the country, both socially and financially, leaves a hell of a lot to be desired and I can fully understand why you would feel aggrieved at treasury funding being spent on what you perceive as 'someone else's war' but the reality is that their war is our war and visa versa!
For example if we were to be attacked or invaded, those member states would come to our aid in the same way that we're aiding Ukraine right now, we owe far more allegiance to the rest of Europe than we ever did to the USA simply because, even though they did eventually enter into World War 2 and gave Europe funding (The Marshal Plan) to rebuild and stabilise after the war this was a loan, the UK got 26% of the total loan and it took decades to repay!!
Hope this will help you to understand why it is that by helping Ukraine we're not simply 'funding this nonsense'?! 😥
