Half-naked woman on CBBC Operation Ouch!

AIBU to feel it’s inappropriate to have “Dynamite”, who is a skimpily-dressed gladiator on a kids’ show?

She appears on segments of the new series, IMO flirting with the handsome twin Black doctors, Raph and Dan, calling them “boys”. It just seemed sexualised to me.

I’ve attached a picture of her, this is how she dresses on the show.

I've watched a lot of Operation Ouch but not recently. Seems they have found another pair of twin brother doctors, how many can there be? I've always admired their frankness about some quite gory topics. Gladiators costumes are just sports clothing.

ZookeeperSE · 03/03/2025 16:38

For fucks sake don’t google Brian Jacks whatever you do. He was all over kids TV in the 70s in Superstars and the like, in his skimpy er, sports clothing….

IButtleSir · 03/03/2025 16:39

Why did you feel the need to tell us the doctors are black? Is that relevant somehow?

RIPVPROG · 03/03/2025 16:41

Isn't gladiators aimed at children/families? She's just wearing her kit , she's not in a thong and fishnets

LBFseBrom · 03/03/2025 16:48

She looks OK in that picture, not showing bits or anything. CBBC wouldn't have nakedness or sexual provocation.

Hwi · 03/03/2025 16:48

Very modest bra, very modest shorts. Not sexualised, I think. Obviously I would prefer if they wore actual clothes, but she does not look obscene at all.

Namechangetry · 03/03/2025 16:49

I much prefer Operation Ouch to feature a strong healthy active woman in sports wear than the 'trans non binary' one who tried to storm a medical conference to shut down medics who don't agree with her.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 03/03/2025 16:50

FFS what is with all these posts about what women are wearing, first women in gyms, now this bollocks

CatkinToadflax · 03/03/2025 16:50

I recently chaperoned a panto she was in. She’s a lovely young woman who was fantastic with the children in the cast. I think it’s brilliant that a fit, strong, healthy young woman is appearing on such a popular children’s show.

mumonthehill · 03/03/2025 16:53

Yeh because obviously we would not want our youngsters to see a strong, fit, healthy athlete as a role model.

FreyaFromTheFens · 03/03/2025 15:48

I think you've just had your arse handed to you on a plate op 😁I'm now wanting to read your gym wear post.

I think I have 😅😂
Wasn’t expecting this many comments in the time it took me to do laundry, pick up a bottle of milk and do the school run haha.

This is my first ever thread though, so not sure what other thread you’re referring to.

I’ve never been disturbed by the Olympics etc, I think I just felt this was a bit out of place on that show and the way she was interacting with the sexy doctors (and maybe I am a bit jealous)

Oh no - an athlete as a role model.

Whatever next 👀

ALovelyShadeofMauve · 03/03/2025 16:56

I swear there are some bizarre ideas out there about what is “sexualised”.

I saw a while back that Yona Knight-Wisdom (Jamaican professional diver) had done this charity event encouraging girls and young women to learn to swim. People actually made complaints because he was wearing Speedos when pictured at the pool with these girls. Seriously?! What was a professional diver, at an event that involved swimming, expected to wear?!

Didn’t you try and post this 3 days ago OP bit you accidentally posted on a Trump thread rather than your own thread? What took you so long to make your own post?

I haven't seen this iteration of Operation Ouch but I assume the 'sexy doctors' are there because they are doctors, not because of how they look.
Similarly, a gladiator is an athlete, so wearing athletic clothes is part of the job spec.
I only see one person her sexualising people doing their jobs calling them sexy and skimpily dressed.

Yes I did! I’m new to this site and thought I’d done a new post. Took me 3 days to realise it was on someone else’s post. I thought my post didn’t get approved or nobody bothered to comment haha

Gossipygossip · 03/03/2025 17:12

Off to find pics of the sexy doctors now misses point of post

peachgreen · 03/03/2025 17:15

DD (7) fancies the (shiny lycra) pants off Dynamite, although she doesn't quite realise that's what she's feeling yet. It's ADORABLE.

SporadicMincePieMuncher · 03/03/2025 17:19

I have a problem with what female olympic athletes are told they must wear, but until that changes I can't really have a problem with this.

If anything it's nice to see a woman with a strong healthy female body as a role model. Those thighs are for strength, and she's not hiding them because society would happily tell her that "Thick Thighs" are wrong but fuck em, she could just bench press anybody who told her that 😁I'd love my kids to grow up watching her kick ass instead of dressing their barbies in high heels to be honest.

ZookeeperSE · 03/03/2025 17:21

Hmmm, so a show has an athlete and Doctors, just doing their jobs, and you think it’s a bit much because they’re ‘sexualised’ and ‘sexy’. At some point you’re going to have to consider that maybe it’s you that has a problem and not them.

(oops editing to say this was supposed to be jokey OP but just realised it doesn’t sound like it sorry 🫣)

I love that you have a sense of humour!

insomniacalways · 03/03/2025 17:21

I've just watched it she is ace - strong and capable. Lots of schools have Gladiators come in to visit and they wear their costumes - it is what the kids expect .

Well she's not half naked so my guess is she's probably not flirting either...

Has someone cast an evil spell and reanimated Mary Whitehouse? What's with all the extreme prudery on here lately?
