Half-naked woman on CBBC Operation Ouch!

AIBU to feel it’s inappropriate to have “Dynamite”, who is a skimpily-dressed gladiator on a kids’ show?

She appears on segments of the new series, IMO flirting with the handsome twin Black doctors, Raph and Dan, calling them “boys”. It just seemed sexualised to me.

I’ve attached a picture of her, this is how she dresses on the show.

This can't be serious....

SeaSwim5 · 03/03/2025 15:19

Never watched this show but my DC we’re watching kids TV in the 2000s/2010s and I have to think what your view would be of the shows available then if you find this too sexualised!

Suite Life of Sack and Cody, Wizards of Waverly plate etc all contained overt flirtatious and borderline sexual references and no one died.

MyUmberSeal · 03/03/2025 15:20

There is nothing sexual about that image. Nothing.

GretchenWienersHair · 03/03/2025 15:15

Are you the same poster who complained about women wearing gymwear to the gym in another thread recently?

I was trying to think of OP's previous thread and I think that's it.

SapphOhNo · 03/03/2025 15:22

Grow up OP

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 03/03/2025 15:22

Woman wears clothes on kids TV

What an absolute shocker!

user1471538275 · 03/03/2025 15:25

Do you have objections to seeing human skin?

You are entitled to dislike certain clothes, but it is vital you understand that others have the right to wear what they like and you have no right to criticise them openly.

She is not half naked. She is appropriately dressed for the job she does.

There are many clothes I don't like and think look awful/ I have negative thoughts about why they are being worn - I zip my lips however because I recognise individual's rights to wear what they want.

OhCalmTheFuckDownMargaret · 03/03/2025 15:27

I just clutched my pearls so hard they broke. Now they are all over the place !

Whoarethoseguys · 03/03/2025 15:29

She is not dressed any differently from women field Olympians. I don't see the issue. What do you expect athletes to wear?

BitOutOfPractice · 03/03/2025 15:29

the only thing I think about her body when I look at her is “I wonder how much she can deadlift”. She looks so strong and fit, I hope she appreciates how wonderful it feels to be young and fit. Can you tell I’ve just dragged my wobbly yet puny 57 yo body home from the gym?

do I see that as sexualised? Not in the tiny slightest.

Pigcasso · 03/03/2025 15:30

if you are going to object to anyone's clothing, it should be this woman I saw on an ad on daytime TV, totally inappropriate with babs out for all to see, just nipples barely covered

Themagicclaw · 03/03/2025 15:33

She's an athlete. My 6yr old loves her, wants to be "strong and fast" like her and is happy to try out loads of sports. I'm perfectly happy that she's a role model for my wee girl

Insidelaurashed · 03/03/2025 15:35

I wondered that too @BitOutOfPractice 160kg, according to the bbc website. Insanely fit, good for her

SpotlessLeopard · 03/03/2025 15:35

Have you seen the Olympics OP, its pure filth with lots of athletes in similarly skimpy get ups!

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 03/03/2025 15:35

Hahahahahahahahahahaha

VioletVX · 03/03/2025 15:36

Grow up, OP. It’s not like she’s wearing a thong. Why are you trying to sexualise a bare stomach?

Drfosters · 03/03/2025 15:37

Gladiators in the 90s wore skimpier outfits than that and they were on TV all the time! Didn’t think much about it at the time as it is a costume for the show.

NC28 · 03/03/2025 15:38

I’ve just contacted the safeguarding lead at my child’s school, and all other schools within a 2 mile radius.

Now going to call 101. My GP is calling me back later to take details.

125High · 03/03/2025 15:40

Gymrabbit · 03/03/2025 14:55

You know the gladiators have a whole show on CBBC where they wear those costumes and do pranks.
don’t watch it or you might explode!

I was about to post just that! @FancyMauveDreamer The gladiators are pranked in various set ups by one of their colleagues. One athlete attended a kids’ party in a back garden wearing her gladiator outfit, as did her male colleagues. It looked bizarre but not offensive! This is a CBBC spin off so made just for kids. If anything I have a problem imagining the gladiators dressed in normal clothes. Do they fit? Is there a special shop with items that accommodate pop out muscles?

namechangeGOT · 03/03/2025 15:41

She's hardly parading round like bonnie blue is she?

She's dressed like an athlete. A strong, healthy fit woman - surely you see this as a positive role model for all children?

haribo1989 · 03/03/2025 15:41

What do athletes like divers, gymnasts, pole vaults, runners, long jumpers etc wear? How do you feel when you watch the Olympics OP?

whycantibeselfishforonce · 03/03/2025 15:41

Goodness me OP. She is a professional athlete wearing her usual athletic gear. She is clearly a young woman who prioritises being strong, disciplined and resilient. If only there were more young women and men like her on our TV for children to look up to.

ItsChristmasEEEVEJeff · 03/03/2025 15:43

Just how on earth do you get through life? Seriously.

FreyaFromTheFens · 03/03/2025 15:48

I think you've just had your arse handed to you on a plate op 😁I'm now wanting to read your gym wear post.

Lunde · 03/03/2025 15:49

Do you forbid them from watching the Olympics because of clothing? No athletics, no gymnastics ... and definitely no diving.

The gladiators dress as athletes.
