People who are too busy to do exercise

I run about 4 miles, 4 times a week. I’m in a routine and force myself to do it even when I can’t be arsed. It takes me about 30-40 minutes each time I go for a run and I squeeze it in early morning, before dinner, just whenever I can really. I work full time and have 2DC who are admittedly at secondary school now, but this is something I’ve always done.
My AIBU is finding it annoying when people tell me they don’t have time to do any exercise. It’s like they’re so busy and important and I’ve got all the time in the world. I honestly don’t believe that the vast majority of people can’t squeeze in half an hour a few times a week.

Why are threads like this allowed to stand?

If the poster makes one post then never returns they are obviously a troll who is off reading all the replies and wanking to everyone fighting amongst themselves.

You're all wank fodder.

I love running but when I start work early and finish late then there is no time when it’s dark outside early morning or after work.

🤔 What a strange thing to post. There are so many reasons as to why people don't have time. Some people are single parents and have no 'village' to support them. Some people actually prefer to spend their little bit of free time actually with their children/family and some people have other hobbies that may take up their free time. There is absolutely nothing wrong with people spending their little bit if free time indulging in a book, the same as it's also ok for someone to spend that free time going for a run or doing yoga, for example. Your post sounds as though you live a rather sheltered and privileged life

@Notwiththebullshizz if the motivation to post was to wind up a load of women into a frenzy and sit back laughing then it's a fairly logical thing to post!!

Circumstances, age, physical limitations? Back in my 20s with one child who was a good sleeper, I'd do at least an hour on my turbo trainer every night, cycle to work and fit in weights 2-3 times a week. Now I'm in my 40s, I'm working more, finally sit down for an hour after t 9-10 and then I'm back up at 6 to start it all again (frequently after at least 1-2 wake ups). I try to walk as much as possible at lunch time, but have barely managed this recently. My office is full of child-less gym bunnies with set routines for exercise - and I'm v glad for them that they can, for both physical and mental reasons, but there's no way I could squeeze it in. Maybe at some point in the future, but not now. All I can do is try to make sensible decisions on diet etc.

You're right 😆 I don't usually take the bait but for some reason, this really bothered me 🫣

Thanks I just can't believe how many people haven't noticed they haven't been back.
I'm sad enough to have checked out their other posts, on Erictile Dysfunction which gave me a good laugh 😃

@Needspaceforlego

Explains the need to run so much. She must have a lot of pent up energy and frustrations.

Crazybooklady · 02/03/2025 16:49

Nobody has time to do everything. What do you not do to make time for exercise Op?

MasterBeth · 02/03/2025 16:52

You sound amazing, 😍. Well done being you, OP.

ForPlumReader · 02/03/2025 17:08

I may have a spare 30 mins a day but I don't like running. The types of exercise I enjoy takes longer than 30 mins, so is harder to fit in. Just because you manage to have a routine that suits you doesn't everyone can.

Scottsy200 · 02/03/2025 20:04

I’m not too busy I just can’t be arsed

Not the first time 😂

Goodness only knows.
I guess technically the poster hasn't breached the chat guidelines it's a fairly mundane subject. You can't force someone to engage.
But it's pretty annoying when you see how many people have been sucked in by the tosser who can't get it up.

I work 48-60 hours a week of nights shifts. Im a single parent to 3 kids, older, but still require parenting. I geneuinely dont have time, or effort, to add exercise multiple times a week. But yey for you...?
