Trans men are women according to Gender Critical Movement

Under Trump's transgender policy, which echoes the ideology of the Gender Critical Movement, trans women are men and trans men are women. This view denies and rejects as worthless and baseless the lived experience of millions of men and women in the US who identify as trans. As a result of having their lived experience of themself ignored and denied by law, millions of trans men as well as trans women are now experiencing deep psychological trauma and living in abject fear and terror in the US. Many are trying to leave the country because they are so terrified.

The almost total silence of the Gender Critical Movement and it's supporters about the effect that it's ideology has had on those hundreds of thousand of women who self identify as men is deafening.It's whole argument about banning trans women from female public toilets and other ' women only spaces' is based on the argument that denying trans women the right to access these spaces is needed to protect the safety of women and girls. Given the fear, terror and trauma that hundreds of thousands of women( trans men) are now experiencing in the US, as a result of the government putting into practise Gender Critical Movement ideology, the sense of safety and well-being of hundreds of thousands of women has been devastated. This makes the infinitesimally small number of cases where women have been or ever would be assaulted by a trans woman in a women only space pale into insignificance by comparison.

In short, the Gender Critical Movement is directly responsible for harming the well being of hundreds of thousands of WOMEN according to it's own ideology.The damage done by implementing it's ideology makes a sickening mockery of it's claim that it's ideology protects the safety of women and girls.

When the number of men( trans women) in the US who are now living in fear and terror in the US is taken into account as well, the Gender Critical Movement and all those who support it are directly responsible for terrorising millions of people. It is impossible to claim that we are supporting women's rights and protecting the safety of women if we support the Gender Critical Movement.

You may not regard transwomen as a threat, but many women do, and with good reason. There have been numerous cases of transwomen attacking women. If transwomen don't feel safe using the men's facilities, why is it up to women to give up their sense of security to protect them?

I have decided throughout my life who I choose to be undressed in front of. I have never been naked in front of any male (besides my dad when I was a baby) except my husband. That's my choice to make. I have had to self exclude from several gyms because they only had communal changing facilities and had adopted the mantra of TWAW so I could no longer guarantee that a man wouldn't walk in while I was getting changed.

It's not just about being physically attacked although that is also a valid concern, it's about having the right to choose who sees you undressed and who you see undressed.

That should be a very basic expectation that any female woman should be able to rely on.

Then you get into the myriad of other examples where sex segregation is imperative - sports, prison cells, gynaecology wards, psychiatric facilities.....

For all of you saying that transmen can just use the female toilet because they are women, what would your response be to someone that looks and sounds like a man coming into the female toilet and when questioned saying that they were born female? How are we to determine the truth? This isn't me saying you are wrong in your beliefs, I just wonder how it will work in reality?

I know 3 transwomen and I don’t think any of them are a threat to women BUT that’s like saying we should let all men into female toilets because my BIL and my dad and my brother and my best friend’s husband are all lovely ergo we should let all men in. Male people, however they identify, commit the vast majority of sexual assaults. These abusive men don’t come with a big flashing sign on their head so we can avoid them, so we don’t know who’s safe - hence the saying “Good men stay out, so bad men stand out”. That is, any man in a female toilet is dodgy (because decent men don’t go into them - and fyi this includes all the transwomen I know who never use female toilets).

But, it’s not just about safety! Think of all the lovely men you know. They might be great but I sure as hell don’t want them in a female toilet because I want privacy and dignity. Women don’t want male people in their toilets for all kinds of reasons. They want single sex spaces - and once you a male person in, they’re no longer single sex.

So, you asked for women to disclose their trauma and then didn’t stay and engage with what they said?

Either you made a mistake based on a quick glance and wrongly assumed the person was a man when they’re actually a transman, in which case, that would become obvious when speaking to them - or they’re a man and are lying, which would also be apparent when speaking to them. In that latter case, I’d be getting out of the toilets as quickly as I could.
