I remember Anthea Turner punting flakes at her wedding. Carol Vorderman was always quick to front a financial product. Just seen Carole Malone on my timeline oiling on about weight loss jabs.

Any others spring to mind?

Yes on a recent episode of SYLO she said dessert spoons are something from Downton Abbey! As if they aren't what most people use most of the time!

Yes, I thought that was a weird thing to say! Inverted snobbery or ignorance.

Good Law Project/Jolyon Maugham. They have about 40 staff and very expensive offices in Covent Garden but all they seem to do is write complaint letters and lose court cases.
Do the soft touches who pay for it all by monthly direct debit think they're funding some brave resistance movement?

Was he the one who murdered a fox while wearing a kimono?

Petuniaspetal · 20/02/2025 19:06

Trump and musk fleecing the USA. The shocking thing is that they've actually been invited in and encouraged to do it by their voters! 😂

I think Boris Johnson is actually incredibly smart. I don't like him, and he's certainly the master of free handouts, but he certainly isn't a man of little intelligence.

Edited

He isn't highly intelligent, but he did benefit from a good education, so he seems more intelligent than he actually is........

Butchyrestingface · 20/02/2025 19:07

The entire Royal Family (special mention to the Woking One)
Captain Tom's terrible daughter
Jack Monroe
Jessica Taylor
Charlotte Proudman (perhaps more of an attention seeker than an outright grifter)
Tom Parker's widow

Someone I know in real life. Now embracing #vanlife so perhaps that grift isn't going quite so well.

Slatkater · 20/02/2025 19:07

Jack Monroe with her numerous money making scams and her many lies. She has never been poor and knows nothing about being poor.

Celebs - Harry and Meghan. Two people who aren’t particularly bright and have no talent or charisma prancing about the globe using the birthright he moans about to use whichever person gives them the most clout that day before moving on to the next fool.

This. I was coming on here to say exactly the same. All that lecturing people and claiming to be "philanthropists" and "humanitarians" while making money slagging off his family The only reason they're famous is because of his family !

Stacey Solomon. Quite how she's gone from an X Factor finalist all those years ago to now presenting multiple primetime TV shows, flogging everything from cleaning products to deodorant, and her multiple homeware ranges etc. is beyond me!

She's positioned as an interiors and home organisation guru but to me she comes across as fake, phony and just not very intelligent.

That's not being a grifter though? She's just not to your taste.

MostlyHappyMummy · 20/02/2025 18:58

Royal family - but fair play to them. Nobody seems to mind - bizarre but there you go

Harry (now) and Megan yes, the rest of them do a lot of work and bring the country more money than they cost .

Pedallleur · 20/02/2025 19:09

The royal Family for me. Accountable to no one. Ok, Andrew got shamed but still living in splendour with his ex. After that anyone on eg Love Island who is suddenly catapulted into the limelight and is busy influencing. Farage obviously and Johnson who seemingly loves rich people and their lifestyles and ignores any warnings about them. Lebdev being the obvious one.

She is absolutely awful. I bought her book on tidying. It was the biggest load of waffle ever. I didnt pay much for it though.

MyCatNamedCookingFat · 20/02/2025 19:11

Karen Matthews for sure, she faked her own daughter's kidnapping, had her hidden away with some low life, for the MONEY she hoped she could get from it.

Despicable.

I don't think she's a grifter. She's put time and effort in to everything. She didn't start off privileged. I think she's quite funny, genuine and charming.

Pedallleur · 20/02/2025 19:11

pinkyredrose · 20/02/2025 19:09

How do they bring in this money and where can I see the balance sheet?

weareladyparts · 20/02/2025 19:11

labtest57 · 20/02/2025 18:07

Jack Munroe, and Jessica Taylor. Both grifters and pathological liars.

Agree with both of these and there's a domestic abuse charity in Cheshire currently giving them a run for their money allegedly.

MojoMoon · 20/02/2025 19:12

Nigel Farage, no question.

He is always selling some shite.
Dodgy investment schemes, gold, bitcoins etc.

Incredible grifter.

YourKindPeachMaker · 20/02/2025 19:12

The royal family, every single one of them a parasite, past present and future

WtP · 20/02/2025 19:13

Redheadedstepchild · 20/02/2025 18:27

Andrew Tate, his silly brother Tristan, the "Hustler's University" scam, the...the...

Calms down.

I hope both Andrew and Tristan mature and grow as people. I wish them well.

Really!
A swift kick in the nuts would be better for them both.

CurlewKate · 20/02/2025 19:13

All psychic readers
Nigel Farage
Boris Johnson
Andrew Windsor
Zara and Mark Philips.

Vinorosso74 · 20/02/2025 19:16

The Royal Family, all of them.
Farage.
I'm not sure about some of these "reality stars", they do at least have to show up to things to be paid but if people weren't interested they they wouldn't be getting paid?

MinistryofThyme · 20/02/2025 19:17

Can’t believe no one’s said that ‘hero plumber’ DEEFER CIC yet.

Definitely agree re Tony H’s parents, JoMo the bekimonoed fox killer, Jack Monroe, and that horror Hannah Ingram Moore.

BustingBaoBun · 20/02/2025 19:17

The Royal Family
Michelle Mone
Hannah Ingram Moore

A woman who has set up an organisation to enrol clever career women (who are obviously vulnerable in some way) with a load of twaddle, like they are there to evolve the human race and they have a higher purpose in life. it's a cult. So bad they give their money to her scam and some have even changed their Wills in favour of the organisation. Can't say who in case I'm sued. But it's bad, very bad.

Nothatgingerpirate · 20/02/2025 19:18

Duchess of Sussex.

AlteredStater · 20/02/2025 19:18

'Dr' John Campell, that online grifter who has spread so much misinformation and cashed in on it!!!

DrudgeJedd · 20/02/2025 19:20

Yup, fascinating character.
