To ask how to best handle this car blocking my drive?

I live near to a football stadium and the team are currently playing. Somebody has parked right across my drive and blocked me in. I assume they have gone the match.

You need a residents pass to park round here and it doesn't look like they have one. Looks like I'm trapped until they come back.

What's best to do? Can I report them to the council? Leave a note? Confront them upon their return. Or is all of that pointless?

I wanted to go to the supermarket which will likely be closed by the time they're back.

The sort of brainless idiot that sees a garage at the end of the drive but assumes that there won't be a car in it!

I'm just thinking if you got back to the empty space where your car was, how would you know it had been towed as oppposed to nicked or forgotten where you parked 🤔

I'm guessing it's an away fan because home fans generally park in the same place every match.

Hoping the tow truck driver isn't planning on leaving it til after the traffic dies down ...

Just caught up with this thread. I am praying that idiot driver arrives just as the car is being towed!

I know, I thought it was pretty clear myself, but some people don't grasp that being blocked in is something the police may take action over, being blocked out, they will not.

I live on Merseyside - Wirral, not far from a football ground. And on match days I have to say I’ve seen my fair share of cars being towed after parking in residential areas where permits are in operation - some people will chance it because their only focus is getting to the ground. Football is akin to a religion here !!
