To ask how to best handle this car blocking my drive?

I live near to a football stadium and the team are currently playing. Somebody has parked right across my drive and blocked me in. I assume they have gone the match.

You need a residents pass to park round here and it doesn't look like they have one. Looks like I'm trapped until they come back.

What's best to do? Can I report them to the council? Leave a note? Confront them upon their return. Or is all of that pointless?

I wanted to go to the supermarket which will likely be closed by the time they're back.

Well done for getting it sorted OP, great result but...half the street out watching a car being towed away? Heck it must be a slow day for a lot of people.

This is so layered, we were on the edge of our seat for the tow truck to arrive... then to take the car away... now we're still hooked in the final chapter - the owners return. Sunday afternoons don't get much better than this

Half the street was out watching, tow fellas took it no bother. Said they do it a fair bit round here on match and concert days.

Late to the thread but relieved at the score ( Liverpool v Wolves). DH is a Liverpool fan but he's gone to the pub to watch it and we are closer to Wolverhampton than Liverpool.
Love a good parking thread, brings out the best in MNetters.
I would be watching via my Ring doorbell when the car owner returns.

It’s a freezing, Sunday in February. This is about as exciting as life gets.

If a neighbour my street WhatsApp posted that they were blocked in by a CF and a tow truck was coming to take it away I would definitely be watching! Look how many people are invested in this thread and they’re not even watching it pan out in real life, of course some of the neighbours will be interested. It’s Sunday afternoon, not typically a busy time for people.
