What films have you seen and really enjoyed recently? Any you would recommend for someone else to watch? (new or old) love a great film but my latest picks have just been ok!

We liked The Lady in the Van, and also Wicked Little Letters

’September 5’ and ‘Memoir of a Snail. Both brilliant. Both still in cinemas.

The Brutalist and Bridget Jones.

There is a film called The Painted Veil. I saw it years ago but its in netflix so i rewatched it recently. Its brilliant, just gorgeous.

Kneecap - bloody hilarious. Conclave - tense.
Lee - Kate winslet is fab. The Dylan one - hit dragged there but it was good, though Dylan seems like a prick! Moana2- great for kids.
1917 - brilliant loved it.

Not film but recently enjoyed sky tv series "From" (series 3 released recently)

also watched THE proposal with the kids, they loved it. Oh and SPY which is absolutely hilarious! Both free on streaming channels. Love a good comedy and these both are.

Conclave - first film I've seen in ages that prompted us to have a long conversation about it after.

I saw that the other day and thought it was brilliant. Never heard of it before but it's a classic.

Also enjoyed the Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown.

Thanks to PP for recommendations of Conclave and Spy. Don't know either of these and will look them up.

King with Timothee Chalamet. He's excellent in it as are the rest of the cast.

Spy is a comedy with Melissa McCarthy, a 15 as it’s sweary but so funny.

Carry On on Netflix. Fast paced and kept me hooked the entire time, not seen a film that good in a long time!

I watched one recently called A Bigger Splash. It had Tilda Swinton and Ralph Fiennes in it. Was v good. Gorgeous scenery and a very weird, intriguing atmosphere.

I really liked We Live In Time. I don’t generally like films like this but Florence Pugh was great in this.
