Jerry and Marge Go Large (2022) is a lovely film and is currently on 4 on Demand. A real feel good film and it's based on a true story.

Sherrystrull · 22/02/2025 23:03

The Wild Robot

purpleme12 · 22/02/2025 23:11

Quiz Lady

And the classic... Three Men and a Baby!

Littlepixie75 · 22/02/2025 23:17

The Holdovers - think it came out around a year ago but well worth watching if you didn’t see it. Tender, funny and beautifully shot in the way of a classic seventies film. Paul Giametti as the grumpy fusty old Latin teacher is hilarious and heartbreaking. Da’Vine Joy Randolph won Best Supporting Actress for her role as the school cook and rightly so. She is magnificent.

Conclave was excellent imo

jampickles · 25/02/2025 05:11

Conclave - Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci and the rest of the cast deliver a really strong performance. Great plot too! Wouldn’t be surprised if film wins the Oscars.

I loved this film so much I’ve started a thread about it:

Conclave - I was so annoyed when the system cut out on the plane. I cued it right up again on the return flight! Great movie - like a proper movie!

Deadpool and Wolverine. I loved it. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman looked as if they were really enjoying themselves. And I thought it was genuinely witty which I wasn't expecting.
However I'm a hard-core comic book fan and first read marvel when I was 4 years old. So it might not be as funny for everyone.
Soundtrack is fab, and I liked how Ryan Reynolds was/is confident enough in his own masculinity to let his on screen character show body image insecurities.
And the bit when he and his blind roommate who is the actor from original star trek who was lieutenant Uhuru, discuss the street names for cocaine. Obviously that's still a popular drug in Hollywood!

Watched alot of films lately.

Love Conclave. On Netflix i liked Missing (about a girl who tries to find her mum who goes missing on holiday) Back in Action with Cameron Diaz; Money MNonster with George Clooney.

Also my older DS is on a Hitchcock kick and we watched Rear Window, Psycho and To Catch a thief over the Christmas holidays.

Oh and Jaws! He wanted to watch the original and I was all 'ugh, scary!!' then watched it with him and discovered why it's a classic. It's a GREAT film!

sunshineandshowers40 · 25/02/2025 06:59

Better Man
About Time
About a boy

Lincslady53 · 25/02/2025 07:10

Watched Conclave this weekend, as I wanted to check the system before we have one for real.
A Complete Unknown. Been waiting for this since I first heard about it 5 years ago. Loved it. Now looking forward to getting it, probably on dvd, as I am old, and I buy all Dylan stuff on solid media. For those who say that Dylan came over as a prick in the film, that is because he was one.
Also seen Wicked and Bridget Jones, but mainly been watching box sets, The Night Agent and The Split, both from the beginning of Series 1 as we haven't seen either before.

Sorry but she's not the actor from Star Trek. She died in 2022. Different actress.

I enjoyed A Better Man. It's a biopic about Robbie Williams. Wonderful film and you don't need to be a RW fan to enjoy it.

Gettoachiro · 25/02/2025 07:12

Carry on for me as well. Cracking film.

I stopped that film after about 10 minutes for no real reason. That will now be today's watching-netflix-while-ironing I think!

Pottingup · 25/02/2025 07:23

I really loved A Real Pain too. Went to the cinema to see it. Great script and really good performances from Kieran Culkin and Jesse Eisenberg.

2dogsandabudgie · 25/02/2025 07:33

Old but classics - Rain Man and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.
