My husband keeps touching my full face...WTF

Thankgodforwine · 15/02/2025 23:26

My husband randomly runs his hand down the front of my entire face.....he knows it annoys the fuck out of me ...but he keeps doing it. When I voice my annoyance/rage, he makes it out as if it's "me"problem.
He is a great guy and dad....amazing husband and provider but ...WTF, is it me or is this normal. For context and to avoid drip feeding, I'm not a fan of human contact...like hugging etc ...some may say I'm awkward...but a hand to the full face ...surely nobody likes this, also his hands are sweaty as fuck, no joke ...these hands are damp. Am I being unreasonable, please say I am not 🤣

So pour boiling water over his head. It doesn’t get better if you don’t stop it now.

Maybe a bit extreme but you could teaspoon him on the hand or neck with a boiling hot teaspoon straight from a tea or coffee, it's regulating for assholes who "joke" like this

Is he vain about his hair? (If he has any!). You could cut a little bit off when he’s asleep for every time he does this (at the back, obvs). See how long it takes until he twigs. When he does, just say, airily, “Yes, it was me. You didn’t respect my bodily autonomy, so I thought I’d do the same.”

That might give him pause!

He's got a good head of hair and he's handsome as ever however he is receding, I could help it on its way 😂he would probably leave me

YABU
He is cherishing you.

Itisbetter · 16/02/2025 00:57

I’d just punch him hard in the stomach. A sweaty unwanted hand on my face would not be repeated.

I voted YABU because the am I going crazy remarks and the laughing is a bit ridiculous. It’s not funny for anyone to consistently do something they know annoys you. But if you think it’s hilarious crack on. Let’s all laugh along that your husband gets off on disrespecting you.

Guiltypleasures001 · 16/02/2025 01:02

It's something John travoltas character does in the film face off
Bet he's got it from that
Just say your not bloody Travolta now get lost

Well may be you need to appreciate him more. What if he cheated on you and stroked another womans face and she liked it?

Is this what Amy Winehouse did to Simon Amstell's face once, on Buzzcocks saying about her 'old (clean) self' "She's dead"?

I would ask him in all seriousness why he keeps doing something you’ve told him over and over you don’t like and why he tries to gaslight you into thinking you’re the problem. Ask him when he isn’t doing it and see what he says. He won’t have a decent answer because he’s doing it to annoy you. Not funny and not a sign he cares about your feelings. Incredibly immature of him.

YANBU. No one has a right to touch you without your permission.

You shouldn’t threaten violence to him. Or touch him at all, other than to firmly remove his hand and very clearly say “do not touch me without my consent”.

In all seriousness we have been together since we have been kids and I do feel mentally I've been ageing in dog years and he's mentally hit 20 this year

He been doing it for a while, but I know he has watched faceoff several times

I came to say this too, I suspect this is where it has come from. In the film it’s framed as affectionate though I would also find this annoying. Have you spoken to him outside of when it’s actually happening.

My husband used to do something regularly normally when I was in the middle of something and my response was ‘get off!!’ - he took that as it being our jokey banter thing.

I mentioned it at a completely out of context moment and he was a bit taken aback that it genuinely irritated me - hasn’t done it since

I'm hoping this is what it and after tonight I'm hoping it's the end however if he does it again I will be furious. I did genuinely come on here to ask because I am awkward about hugging etc, I always have been and my husband is from a huggy, touchy family....nothing against it, it's just not what I'm used to or like

@Minimili "DP used to smack my bum when I was cooking, it made me jump"

Yeah, mine often used to do that when I bent over to put something in the dishwasher or get something out of a lower kitchen cupboard - also used to make me jump and often resulted in me hitting my head on the kitchen counter.

And once, during A-Levels, my then boyfriend decided it was a good idea to sneak up on me from behind in the cafeteria - I can't remember what he did exactly, but I was holding a hot chocolate and he made me spill it all over myself. It hurt, as well as ruined my clothes.

Why are men so damned childish? This kid-brother behaviour is deeply unsexy. I mean, can you imagine 007 acting like that??
