Royal Mail tracked

Hello everyone,
in a nutshell I order medications online. I divert to post offices as my partner doesn’t believe in medication so I have to keep secret. Royal Mail has said they have my parcel but there’s no option to divert my parcel!!
will I have to stay up all night and wait for that option?
im now so worried it will be delivered to my house and he will see. Just wondered if anyone knows at which stage Royal Mail tracked 24 will offer me the usual divert option. It’s awful living like this. I usually get offered the divert option as soon as they’ve received my parcel.

"My partner doesn't believe in medication"

Wow. I think diverting a parcel is the least of your life problems.

Kedece · 14/02/2025 23:26

It won't necessarily give you the option. I didn't get it recently on an item. I've got an item coming tracked tomorrow and it's allowing me to divert it. Maybe they'll only deliver it direct because its meds

Sounds like you have much bigger problems than a diverted parcel.

PuppyMonkey · 14/02/2025 23:26

Medication is definitely real.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 14/02/2025 23:27

@BigCheese24 why did you quote the whole of the OP? Yours was literally the first answer.

Kedece · 14/02/2025 23:28

Just realised I have a second tracked parcel due on Sunday. It's also allowing me to divert that one too

FarmGirl78 · 14/02/2025 23:28

Not helpful in this instance but why don't you order it to be picked up from a local chemist?

DustyMaiden · 14/02/2025 23:28

You don’t have to keep it secret. Tell them to mind their own business. If there is a reason you don’t feel safe doing that then leave.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 14/02/2025 23:29

It's none of your husband's business if you take medication.

I've got a new phone and I don't know how to just reply haha! I can't see the button

MargaretThursday · 14/02/2025 23:52

Try evri they'll lose your parcel so you won't have to worry about anyone knowing...

mediummumma · 15/02/2025 00:07

I didn’t get an option to divert a tracked parcel that was recently delivered. Not sure why that was the case.

But your real problem is that you have a partner who doesn’t believe in medicine. That is completely ridiculous. Science isn’t something that requires belief - it is objective, observable, measured, tested and factual.

And because of your partner’s nonsensical view you have to order and take medication in secret. That is completely unacceptable. Does your partner not care about your wellbeing and health?

Flibberti · 15/02/2025 00:12

Doesn't believe in medicine, or will 'do something' if you have any in your possession? What would they do if your medication arrived? You have a right to healthcare.

CountryMumof4 · 15/02/2025 00:12

I think you've got a bigger problem there .. a) why would he monitor your parcels anyway and b) why can't you have medication?? Unless there's a back story of drug dependence, I really don't see why he would.

Quinlan · 15/02/2025 00:16

@BigCheese24

What do you mean that you don’t know how to just reply? You just write a reply to the thread. You don’t need to quote the OP or even @ the OP. It’s a new thread, there were no other replies. You just had to type in the box and click “post” without quoting the OP.

5foot5 · 15/02/2025 00:24

So it sounds like you have a condition that requires regular repeat prescriptions, and you are having to hide this from your partner?

I know your post is asking about Royal Mail Tracking but, seriously, you must see this isn't the main issue. What would happen if you just told him to back off, you need this prescription and he has no right to interfere? You know you are living with a loon, right?

Fencehedge · 15/02/2025 00:56

I hope you are making plans to leave this abusive idiot. Coercive control is a crime.

mondaytosunday · 15/02/2025 02:51

Can't you go to the distribution office and collect it? I've gone with just my name and address and they've got it. We don't get a card left anymore gig missed deliveries so I just go if Anne if red parcel hasn't turned up. In future you should have it delivered to a drop off place.

Kedece · 15/02/2025 02:56

That's no use if they haven't tried to deliver it. She wants it diverted so it doesn't come to her house. You can only go to collect it after a failed delivery

MrsClatterbuck · 15/02/2025 06:25

Is it prescription medication. I order my repeat prescriptions online and have the script go to my chosen pharmacy. They then text me when it's ready to pick up. Is this an option.

Autumn1990 · 15/02/2025 07:18

Can’t you intercept the postie a few doors up and they’ll give you your parcel? If you have a regular postie that will work or leave a note outside asking it to be taken back to depot

BlueSilverCats · 15/02/2025 07:38

It is awful living like this , you're right. So why are you still doing it, especially with a boyfriend and not a husband.

What would happen if he found out? You actually sound afraid. This is not normal or healthy.

liveforsummer · 15/02/2025 07:43

What will happen if it does get delivered and he sees it? I'd probably allow that to happen if it's safe for you to do so then use the reaction as the catalyst to get rid of this controlling arse! Have someone with you when it arrives if you can if you are worried

Laserwho · 15/02/2025 07:56

I need medication to stay alive. If someone expected me not to get medication I would tell them exactly where to shove it. He shouldn't be controlling you like this

stresspl · 15/02/2025 08:06

I could be way off here of course, but my DP developed an addiction to OTC medication containing codine and would repeatedly order online.

I noticed it after the 2nd delivery and he said it was nothing he was just in a lot of pain. I thought he knocked it on the head but for the following 6 months he would divert the parcels or ask for them to be dropped with neighbours to hide them.

I, of course, could be way off here but he once got painkillers from MIL and said 'don't tell stresspl she doesn't believe in medication' which is absolute rubbish, but it rang alarm bells when I read your post OP. He got help from the GP and has been doing well since.
