To think Trump might be the right Leader for right now?

Theemeperorsnewclothes · 12/02/2025 23:25

I am so confused why I am starting to think that Trump might be a good thing right now. I do think he is making the right moves to end conflict right now, which of course can only be a good thing for the poor people suffering in war zones but I’m so conflicted. I was trying to search for why I felt this way and what past war and future war situations might mean with Trump at the helm. Below are notes to myself. I know you educated, worldly wise mums will absolutely be able to educate on what I am missing. I am genuinely interested to hear your perspectives.

Why do wars start?
War is caused by many different things, including competition over land, religious conflicts, and nationalism. Imperialism, racism, and slavery have also been causes of armed conflict.
Why do wars end?
Realistically, wars usually end when one side wins or the parties experience significant war weariness. Thus, World War I was only a temporary end-of-war because there was no clear-cut victory.
We need to put an end to why wars start, not why wars end. Too much devastation and destruction and loss of life when a war starts. In this case, like the war in Gaza there has been no clear “winner” there has been constant and significant “war weariness” but some other country/political party/religious group steps in. However, there is still never a “clear-cut victory”
Tackle the issues that START wars and not STOP wars in the first place. A true leader will make their priority tackling all the issues that start wars. Trump needs to prove himself in this approach.
That said, we are in a very volatile world and ENDING wars is the first priority. Trump appears to have that in his sights. I say this as far left viewer of the world, as opposed to the right take on the world, as it is today.
I don’t care if you are left or right or somewhere in between. War must end now and we must have a leader who can figure out how to stop it happening again. The end. The Leader who can STOP wars happening in the first place, is the one who can save humanity. Right now, we need the wars to end, and like it or not, that is the position we find ourselves in, and that’s why, I currently think it might be Trump.

Anyone have any idea who is the leader who can STOP wars happening in the first place? I’m thinking they would need to be free from corruption and probably not an egotistical, power hungry male.

End of my rant 😁.

I'm starting to think that there are at least 3 bots (or people getting AI to write their replies for them) in this thread. (Not me, though. Beep-boop.)

I genuinely don’t think there are any bots, but just paranoid individuals that are quick to jump on threads to be negative and not share any decent conversation. When some decent conversation starts they start shouting “bot” because they don’t know what else to do in their little paranoid worlds. Just my opinion of course. Thanks for some really insightful posts. Food for thought. Makes the world a better place in my non bot, hope for a better world, human existence.

No.

I am so angry with Trump I could explode. The Palestinian people have endured years and years of being systematically removed from their land. They've experienced multiple wars and for the last 15 months Palestinians living in gaza have been bombed, traumatised, had all their schools blown to bits, loved ones murdered, hospitals destroyed, infrastructure destroyed, and every single person in gaza has been utterly traumatised.

Now Trump is coming along telling them he not only agrees with their ethnic cleansing, but that he wants to steal their land himself and turn it into some kind of play thing, some real estate opportunity. How dare he. How fucking dare he.

After all they've been through.

I can't stand the evil psychopathic monster.

Honestly I hate the man.

As if Netenyahu wasn't bad enough.

Evil greedy men with power make me feel sick to my stomach. Where the fuck is his humanity. Where?

What is the solution? Hamas are still running the gaza strip and have a huge amount of support there. Do you honestly think that they will all just start living peaceful lives?
It's not a nice solution, but there isn't a nice solution. It's the solution which hopefully results in less dead civilians.

Covert operations work well with high level specific targets, not so much when it's on this scale. The issue wouldn't be identifying hamas members, but how to handle the sheer number.

Peace? Behave. He is not a good person. His actions don't come from a good place. It is always about power or money or both.

Grab 'em by the pussy. You can do anything.

Hamas are a terror organisation and nutters.

Israel is a supposedly western thinking state. Surely anyone with an ounce of empathy would highly condemn terrorist actions and what would be considered war crimes by many against innocent people, all carried out by the state of Israel far worse.

Hi OP

A better world starts with not calling people "paranoid individuals that are quick to jump on threads to be negative and not share any decent conversation".

You have raised a topic that many people feel incredibly sensitive about because they care about some of the issues Trump has trodden all over, very deeply. It is easy to say "here's some rubble, I want it it, I'll build a golf course there" but to say that turns a blind eye to the suffering and history of those people whose graves will lie beneath that golf course, whose homes will be buried under the golden high rises of Trumps real estate, who have lived in that land for generations and who do not want their homeland stolen by an American who has no right to it.

I've been a supporter of Palestine for over 15 years. I've been to Palestine, I have connections with Palestine and with 'Israel'. It's an issue and an area that I have a long held connection with and feel extremely angry with Trump over. This doesn't make me a "paranoid individual".

To question a view that seems quickly formed and pre-prepared is not paranoid and the author of the questioned post has already agreed that it was a pre-prepared narrative.

If you wish To welcome conversation and allow.all sides of a debate, you also need to ensure you don't put down people who are sharing their views on your thread and who may very well care deeply about the issues.

Peace deals? Oh come on.

His actions are driven by greed and a desire to align himself with Netenyahu and Putin who sees as having mutual.interests and a shared psychopathic disregard for humanity.

Peace? He is single handedly destroying the future security of the USA, not to mention many other western countries, and his followers are sleepwalking into what will be an incredibly unstable and unsafe future for America.

This 100%. DH and I had this conversation earlier. Decades of soft power the Americans have built up and Trump has pushed it down the toilet then shat on it. What the fuck is he thinking? What are ANY of the lunatics thinking?

Topseyt123 · 13/02/2025 01:59

Are you mad? He's a convicted felon who should never have been allowed to run for office. I'm absolutely amazed that he apparently can't be impeached and thrown out.

His Riviera plan for Gaza is batshit. He even seems to be a threat now to Canada and Greenland, although I hope he won't get away with that.

He's a despot and an utter cunt. I'm gobsmacked that anyone can see any good in him. I have lost all respect for those of the American electorate who voted for him.

@HellNoWay I can hear the passion in your post and it is an incredibly sensitive issue. With many who have an actual lived experience of what the post is about. You are one of them and you are rightly passionate about the topic. I apologise. There are many posters on here just wanting to tear others down without any reason or substance to what they are saying. You are clearly not one of them. I appreciate the conversation and everyone’s point of view.
