I’m seeing this attitude on here more and more.

Friend has been unreasonable? -Ghost them.

Friend hasn’t “been there” for you in the way that you wanted them to be? -They are not a real friend.

Friend is too needy? -Block them.

Sometimes a ‘frenemy’ comes along that really does need to go, but friendship like any other relationship needs good communication, compromise, understanding, a willingness to make allowances and work through tricky patches. Nobody is perfect!

I agree op, people complain they have no friends or no one they can go to for advice or support yet the first response to any minor disagreement here seems to be block and ghost so no wonder people have v superficial and fleeting relationships. To have friends you have to be a friend and the mantra now seems to be me me me and god forbid you put yourself out for anyone or even worse do anything you don’t a 100% want to like going to a birthday party etc etc

Interesting how PPs have said that friends may “deserve” to be cut off.
As though it is a punishment? With friendship as a gift or privilege to be bestowed or withdrawn, rather than a two-way mutual relationship. Rather controlling and ego-centric, I feel.

Depends op. Im sick of users friendship is two way efforts. Felt people got really flaky. I have a small group of friends. Thats it. We both make efforts. Respect is gone too I think.
