To wonder why furniture delivery men used so much of my room spray

I know I probably sound completely mad. New sofas delivered today which was very exciting. I left the 2 men to it. When I came into the room when they said they were done they had clearly sprayed shedloads of my beautiful White company Myrrh room spray. Why would they do this?
a) wanted to see what it smelt like
b) wanted to create a nice ambiance for me when I came into room
c) had smelly feet or a bit of a farty bottom
d) something else
i was obviously far too polite to ask them why but now I need to know. I could phone him and ask as he phoned this morning to say he’d be 10minutes!

I'd assume a fart.

Meecrowahvey · 07/02/2025 16:04

Farts.

Snorlaxo · 07/02/2025 16:06

I’d assume fart too.
I wouldn’t be confident that he’d answer truthfully if you asked. In his defence, he probably didn’t clock that the spray was from White Company and expensive.

Springflowersmakeforbetterhours · 07/02/2025 16:07

Personally I would be chuffed I had a new sofa delivered and brought into the house... Had a shed delivered at 6.45am last week and he threw all the bits on my front garden and then sped off...

Anydreamwill · 07/02/2025 16:10

If you asked them to take their shoes off then that, if not farts or could be a combo hence the overuse 😁

MrsJHernandez · 07/02/2025 16:11

Lol it's a bit weird, but I wouldn't waste my time worrying or thinking about it!

They were really good. Took it through to the lounge put it all together, plugged it it and took away all packaging and cardboard I was impressed

TROUSER COUGHS

😂ive never heard of that one lol.

Disturbia81 · 07/02/2025 16:55

Definitely a fart. Just be grateful they tried to disguise it 🤣

FusionChefGeoff · 07/02/2025 17:05

Did they knock the bottle over / break it?!

I broke a bottle of room scent when we were moving house it was very potent!!!

maggiecate · 07/02/2025 17:07

Either farts or the packaging/sofa had a bit of a whiff - the foam they use can have a smell until it airs our

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 07/02/2025 17:17

Definitely disguising farts!

CerealPosterHere · 07/02/2025 17:28

Sofas are heavy, all that lifting and getting through doors involves some straining. I bet someone did a right belter of a fart with the effort.

Plugged it in…?

BobnLen · 07/02/2025 17:38

New sofas sometimes have a smell, bit like new carpets, probably to disguise that

icantgetnosheep1 · 07/02/2025 17:39

What needed plugging in 🤨
Definitely a nasty fart..

Plugged it in…?

they’re electric recliner sofas. They are definitely Not OAP electric armchairs 🤣

SapphireOpal · 07/02/2025 17:40

Plug in for electric recliners presumably, I'm not sure what all the 🤔about plugging them in is about!

I’m so glad I left them to get on with it now 🤣 🤢

I wish that was the reason but most people think not unfortunately

I can't believe they'd bother if it was only "new sofa smell".

Sadly I find that the Myrrh range is out of stock online. ☹️

JC03745 · 07/02/2025 18:10

i was obviously far too polite to ask them why

WHY not say anything?

If I walked in and the room was so pungent in MY expensive spray, in that moment, I doubt I'd have considered a massive fart. I'd be more worried that the sofa was wet/mouldy/had a stench for some of the other reason.

Why didn't you ask why they'd used YOUR spray everywhere?
