Ok....maybe a bit too far, but dd is 2 yo, she's singing along with the lelly kelly advert, and ds (3yo) comes and says to me, 'dd wants some lelly kelly shoes so she can ahve a mobile holder and that make-up'....and dd is stood looking at me with a big grin saying 'peeeease mummy'

make-up!!!! OMG- i'm gonna tear my hair out...she's 2FFS, has seen the advert only a handful of times and already knows some of the song for it!!!!

They are horrid, makes me so glad that I have boys

belgo · 08/05/2008 08:56

YANBU. They are pretyy, but they will look awful as soon as they are dirty.

LittleMyDancing · 08/05/2008 08:57

I can't stand them - all that pink shininess! Makes me shudder.

glaskham · 08/05/2008 09:11

glad i'm not the only one to hate some shoes so much!! I so want her to be a little princess, and she wears pink almost every day, and is so much of a girly girl....but these things take the biscuit!!!

And at £40 for a pair of them they better never get them dirty. Give me good old fashioned doodles any day.,

windygalestoday · 08/05/2008 09:12

i have 3 ds and would lurveeeeeeeeeeee to buy those shoes lol

Lulumama · 08/05/2008 09:13

we have many, many pairs of these.

tehy can go in the washing machine you know!!

YANBU, but chacun a son gout.

i bin the plastic make up crap however

fishie · 08/05/2008 09:18

aaaaargh that advert. that awful lisping song. i rather thoughtlessly said 'yuck' (as you do when spending a lot of time with small child) and now ds runs round house screaming yuuuuuuuuuck and laughing wildly whenever it appears.

charitygirl · 08/05/2008 18:21

I am embarassed to say that my mother (only in her mid 50s! still apparently sane!) saw a Lelly Kelly ad in a magazine (featuring the pinkest, sparkliest pair), and asked me if I liked them, and did I think she should get a pair for herself?

I was very stern.

shelleylou · 08/05/2008 18:27

I think they are awful, so glad ive got a ds

emj23 · 08/05/2008 18:37

They are dreadful. DD is only seven months old but there's no way I'm ever buying her shoes like that, regardless of how much of a girly girl she might turn into.

melpomene · 08/05/2008 20:25

My dd2 (not yet 3 at the time) kept telling people that her name was Lelly Kelly after seeing that advert.

A while ago a mnetter posted that she had glued sequins onto some plain white trainers, given them to her dd and the dd believed her when told that they were Lelly Kelly shoes. Respect!

Piffle · 08/05/2008 20:27

i loathe them but dd yearns for them... Bastard marketeers.
thankfully dd not permitted to watch adverts!

aintnomountainhighenough · 08/05/2008 20:28

Oh well I must be mad but I love them. My DD has a pair and if they came in my size I would have pair to. And that song....

Astrophe · 08/05/2008 20:28

YANBU, they are vile and tacky and over priced.

pagwatch · 08/05/2008 20:29

YABU some are grim but some are fantabulous. AND they go in the washing machine. DD wore hers nearly every day for the whole of last summer and she still has them ( taken the insole out and they still fit.
The trainers are grim though. The mary janes and the sandals are the nicest.
And she LOVVVESSS them - as do all her friends.

Shitemum · 08/05/2008 20:30

I hate them because they make all the other perfectly nice shoes look boring in comparision and I end up feeling guilty for not letting DD1 have the pinkest, sparkliest ones.
To compensate I coloured in the cut out hearts with plain leather underneath on her latest pair of shoes with a pink sparkly pen. She's happy.

hannahsaunt · 08/05/2008 20:35

But they are so fab!!! They are one of the very few things that make me think that having a girl would be lovely but I just enjoy them on my nieces instead.

There is a lot to be said for not allowing commercial television in the house

BettySpaghetti · 08/05/2008 20:35

They are gross.

I was so proud of DD when she saw them in the shoe shop and said "eeuurgh"

Thats my girl !

HonorMatopoeia · 08/05/2008 20:39

I have trained DD1 (3.4) to say 'Yeucch, they're horrible' when that viciously vile advert comes onto the tV

BabieWabbit · 08/05/2008 20:43

Arrrgghh! They are vile...Might have to train my brother too

missblythe · 08/05/2008 20:48

They are HIDEOUS! If your DD is insisting on some super-girly shoes, Mothercare have some pretty canvas mary-jane plimsoles at the moment with pink rose buds printed on them.

Quite LK, but without all the nutty sequins/beads/make-up nonsense.

SoMuchToBits · 08/05/2008 20:49

They are gross. It's enough to make me glad I only have a boy!

stoppinattwo · 08/05/2008 20:51

Oh get over it they are harmless shoes....got anyone would think they had spikes on the soles!!!!

stoppinattwo · 08/05/2008 20:55

DD loves them....and guess what!!!, she loves bratz, barbie and all the other tinhgs she isnt supposed to like either (according to some mnetters)......but the thing is, i give her the choice, i dont teach her to say yeuch at the telly

now that seems strange to me
