The US lock up more of its citizens than any other country. Sometimes for minor things, and again the poor non-whites bear the brunt.

Have you not seen what has been going on the last week? it is descending rapidly into fascism. Thanks to Elon and Trump. Shutting down free speech. Closing govt departments. If lots of people are fighting to get into a place, that doesn't necessarily mean that place is great. It can just mean that the place they're running from is worse.

You need to have a lot of money to "be free" in the US. If you're poor your median life expectancy is frankly poor for a first world country. Detroit's life expectancy is 69 years! That is shocking. A country where people die of the complications of diabetes is bad enough but it happening in the richest country in the world is unforgivable.

If you're poor, you have a poorly paid job,limited healthcare, very limited leave, few maternity rights, no social security. I'd hate to live in a country like that.

Oh, it's not my idea of freedom. Freedom to work 3 jobs just to afford to eat and no leave to do anything else??

@TankflyBossW4lk that is also true of many/most countries. The social support system in the US may not look like much to those of us in other western countries but just compare it to that available across other swathes of the globe.
