Is a phonecall after a job interview a good sign?

Sorry posting here for traffic lol.

I’ve been trying to get back into work since I had my baby. I’ve applied for several jobs and have had 3 interviews so far since January. The other 2 were unsuccessful. The first one the manager texted me to ask me of my availability for a call tomorrow.

the job is for a cosmetics counter in a department store. How likely is it that I’ll get the job? This is the job out of them all that I was most after. Praying this goes well.

thanks in advance

I don't know for absolute certain but when I've been rejected from a job they usually send an email but when I've been accepted they'll call me so fingers crossed for you

It does sound hopeful! My last few contacts were all offered by phone call very soon after the interview. All the best!!! 🤞

ThinWomansBrain · 05/02/2025 02:26

if they weren't remotely interested, more likely would be an email "no"
could be a discuss further/want to explore an area of your interview/application - may be a yes

have they outlined next stage of the process
considerate employer to pre-book the phone call.

good luck

It sounds like it a very good sign. Fingers crossed 🤞

Sounds great - a thanks but no thanks would be by email, but asking you to accept a phone call is very promising. Fingers crossed!

Yes that makes more sense. It’s a multi step interview and so far I’ve passed the first and hopefully the second stage. Maybe this third stage is store approval

Be prepared for a couple more questions, don't overthink this or worry but if they ask you to elaborate on anything from the interview then you can be prepared to answer.

Good luck!!!

I think this is a really good sign! Put on your telephone voice!

Thanks. Yeah I thought that as the rejections I’ve got were by email so I’m hoping it’s a job offer. Still waiting on the call.

Thanks. I’m expecting to be asked more questions but I’m just going to remain calm and positive. Still waiting on the call so hopefully I’ll know soon

Hi girls. An update. I pretty much got the job but have to do store approval at some point soon. The manager said I’ve pretty much got it. I’m so happy. Wish me luck and thanks for all your lovely replies. I’ll let you know how store approval goes x

Congratulations OP! 🎉

Have they said what store approval will involve?

ChaosAndToast · 06/02/2025 11:26

I can't believe how invested I am in this, I've been checking it periodically Grin

Well done OP!

My experience from attending many job interviews, is they generally don’t ring people unless it’s good news, they tend to email you and politely reject you instead.

So looks positive
