If you’re vegetarian but DH isn’t, do you cook him meat?

I’ve been vege since I was a child. DH isn’t and there is nothing I can do or say to persuade him that dinner doesn’t need meet.
I will put chicken kievs, and the like in the oven, and even pan fry a steak, but anything more that I just don’t like labouring over a hot stove and my hair smelling of meat when I don’t like it. So it’s basically ready made meals, anything I can put in the oven and he doesn’t like it (married 10 years, DC won’t eat meat, and DH works and I don’t so by agreement I do all the cooking).

YABU- if you’ve both agreed that you’ll do the cooking, cook him what he wants.

YANBU - you shouldn’t have to cook things you don’t like the taste or smell of, I wouldn’t.

Absolutely not!

I will occasionally do him some meat sausages alongside my veggie ones or something, but he's gone mostly veggie with me. I don't make two meals, just things that would be separate anyway like sausages or burgers I'll do him a meat one. I don't really care if I'm not eating it.

My DH is veggie and I eat meat.

he will cook vegetarian food for me but if I want meat I cook it myself.

Strict vegetarian for over 30 years. And how depressing that all that time time has passed and yet women are still considered to be the default one to ‘cook for their husbands’.

And yes, on the rare occasion I might cook for the family, I do cook meat. Touching it doesn’t bother me but I do keep all utensils and kitchenware separate.

I love meat (and fish and seafood) but think if you settle down with a vegetarian then there’s no way you would expect then to ever cook non-veggie for you. That’s pretty obvious to me.

We're the same. I've been a veggie for 20 years and he loves his meat. We just shop and cook separately most of the time! I don't mind cooking him meat now and again, and sometimes he'll eat my veggie food
