Down with knickers!

The last time I bought knickers (Primark) after wearing them once before washing them I found after three washes the elastic had become so loose I've had to throw them away (thank god I wear jeans)! I did complain to the shop that they weren't fit for purpose and was told it wasn't their problem because they are not the makers!

I buy mine from Sainsbury’s Tu range. They last forever.

I used to really like them but the last ones I bought were awful. The gusset is a lot narrower and the leg hole are huge.

M&S are crap now as well. I used to know they'd fit me but again the gusset is narrow and it's hit and miss whether they fit. I'm trying Stripe and Stare at the moment and so far so good apart from the price!

Buy Primark, you get Primark. 🤷‍♀️. Go to M&S or Next. 👍

I find a lot of M+S clothes shrink when I wash them. At least they used too - I haven't bought any for years due to them always bloody shrinking 😂

In the early days of my relationship with DH (32 years ago) he was pegging out some washing and I realised with horror that there was a name label sewn into the back of a pair of briefs. When I asked DH why he said that he'd had them at boarding school where every item of clothing had to be labelled. He was 31 at the time so they were at least 14 years old. I made him chuck them out.

Why did he have to chuck them out? Did they have holes or stains?

Buy better quality knickers, it will be cheaper in the long run and much better for the planet.

Fast fashion/v cheap clothes are bad news all round.

I think you can guess that sleeping w a man in schoolboy pants gave the PP the ick

The best pants are Tesco 5 pack of plain black cotton bikinis. Comfortable and go for years and about a tenner a pack. Next also do quite good ones but not quite as robust. I find the key is to avoid trim and lacy bits as they always come loose on cheaper pants.

I'm still wearing my B&M knickers. Had them years. No problems.

Pancakeflipper · 02/02/2025 18:19

Boody knickers for me.

Expensive
But had them years and only had to get rid of 1 pair (4yrs old - elastic went).

Slave produced goods tend to be low quality. It’s a form of rebellion by the slaves. The best option is to buy ethically made goods as they tend to be fit for purpose.

Not everybody has the luxury of choice and people on restrictive budgets shouldn’t be shamed for it.

RosesAndHellebores why would I be joking? I make a lot of my clothes, knickers are really quick and easy. Would you say I was joking if I had posted about making a skirt?

I have never (yet) made a bra though, apart from the bikini I made as a student when I couldn't afford to buy one.
