To ask Trump supporters how they defend this?

To be blunt, I don't understand how anyone can stand this guy. Nothing on earth would convince me to vote for him (I'm American), but he seems to have a surprising level of support on here. Over 60 people died, including a sickening number of children.

How is this ok?

I agree with him on some things (gender identity EO) but not others. Hes definitely a pretty abrasive character but being an adult means recognizing that no one is all good or BBC all bad.

Imagine if President Kamala Harris made that insulting remark. Would Fox and Friends just let it pass I wonder.

I think this comment demonstrates without any shadow of a doubt that this man is psychopathic.

Do people remember Bush getting battered for using the word "folks" when referring to the 9/11 bombers? That isn't in same universe as Trump's swimming comment.

I honestly feel that all the presidents I can think of in my lifetime, even those I've disagreed with, disliked, not voted for, would a. not have made an insensitive joke and b. already have paid a visit the room that's been set up for the families.

For better or worse, there has never been a President like Trump.

It sounds as though it was said in response to some journalist hounding him about whether or not he was going to go down to the actual site and not letting it go. Just a guess

It was a press conference. He was asked a question. Does that constitute 'hounding'?

He would wear his MAGA. Hat without irony and tell them he was very sorry those bad bad people that joe biden employed killed their families. Maybe it's best he doesn't go anywhere near a grieving person

My jaw actually dropped at that.

It reminds me of his response after the assassination attempt. Imagine how the guy who actually was shot and killed felt.

As far as I know he never once met them, acknowledged them, even mentioned him in his speeches, let alone, you know, small things for him like pay for his funeral etc. He just went on to every possible platform to say how he was 'chosen' and 'God spared me'.

Disgusting man.

I think at this point, whatever he says is just ' noise'. I suspect the majority of people who voted for him ( not the MAGA weirdos) just think he's just rambling on, and other people are having to cover for him and do actual work in the background.

I am American too. And I voted for Kamala along with 75 million other people. I cannot begin to fathom the mentality of the people who voted for Trump.

It seems that most of what he says comes from a desire to elevate himself and bait others.

I'm trying VERY HARD to ignore everything he says and does at the moment. It's just too heartbreaking otherwise. He is sending immigrants home, he is stopping federal loans, he is disrupting the lives of the "everyman" and it makes me want to puke.
