Should she replace it? SHE RETURNED IT!

Goodness me. I can’t believe I am back with an update. After starting the small claims process, look what turned up on my doorstep today! My Dyson Airwrap!!!

I hadn’t heard a single peep from my friend since my last updates on the previous thread.

What a shock I got when I got a notification from my ring doorbell this afternoon saying there was person at my front door. I checked and it was my friend sheepishly dropping a bag on my doorstep!

I was at work and knew I wasn’t going to be home for a few more hours. I sent my neighbour a text message asking her to take it in. I couldn’t wait to get home from work to see what she had dropped off 🤣 was it the original? Was it a brand new replacement? Was it the £150 replacement from Facebook?

When I got home and checked it out it appeared to be my original airwrap. I tested it and it worked just fine (so much for the sister spilling the wine!) and I checked the serial number and it definitely is mine!

What an absolute rollercoaster! I wasn’t sure if I should text my friend acknowledging the eventual return of the airwrap or not?

My friend asked if she could borrow my Dyson airwrap for her wedding as money was tight and she couldn’t afford a hairdresser. It was a small wedding...

Does she even have a sister, or did she lie about that, too?

I'm sure I've read your old thread on bored panda site on Facebook too 🤔🤔

I did too. When I saw ther headline I recognised it from here!

Bowies · 22/01/2025 21:59

Ha ha what a surprise. It was obviously a pack of lies (from the ever spinning web of lies and the fact I am an habitual spiller) but can’t believe the cheek of her to actually hand deliver it back!

It must have resurrected back to life and flown in on a (non blue) carpet.

So glad OP.

I hope you cut ties.

A categoric, real world definition (with example) of what C F - REALLY means.

TakeMe2Insanity · 22/01/2025 22:02

Just wow!

CocoapuffPuff · 22/01/2025 22:04

I think I'd be tempted to turn the tables.

Go ahead with the small claim. If she says she left it on your doorstep....well, it wasn't there when you got home, was it? Pity your ring doorbell is not working...sigh....
She has obviously admitted keeping it, as how else could she have left it on your doorstep? Hmmmm???

Whether it was stolen from your doorstep, or if her "left it on your doorstep" is yet ANOTHER lie, who can tell? All that matters is you're a hairdryer down, and she still owes you £500.

Fukkit, I'd go for the jugular. Make her pay. Give the money to bloody charity if need be.

outerspacepotato · 22/01/2025 22:05

You might want to let those mutual friends know about this just because she's a thieving liar and she might try it with their bigger ticket things too. Snapshot that footage just in case.

I'm glad you got your Air wrap back and hope it works fine.

MissMoan · 22/01/2025 22:06

.....And that's an (Air) wrap, folks!

Edited

Why drag it on and lie to the small claims court? What a bloody stupid idea.

CocoapuffPuff · 22/01/2025 22:08

Lol I'm clearly more vengeful than you!!

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 22/01/2025 22:11

All's well that ends well, you have your item back.

Is this the end of it now, OP? You're getting some stupid 'revenge' suggestions. When will you draw a line do you think?

Didimum · 22/01/2025 22:12

Lordy, this is the satisfying end to the saga.

MySpringAir · 22/01/2025 22:13

Jesus H Christ! What a shocker. Great update Brew

mummabubs · 22/01/2025 22:13

Sweet Jesus what an update! She tells more lies than The Traitors.

Longhotsummers · 22/01/2025 22:16

I think this could be a musical. It has all the right ingredients! What would it be called though…?

Onlyhereforthebatshitneighbours · 22/01/2025 19:59

So those thinking she'd stolen it were right all along!

The unbelievable nerve of that woman!

Cheeky lying mare.
Glad you got it back op

DearestItIsSnowing · 22/01/2025 22:21

HAirWrapSpray?

Crocadoodledoo · 22/01/2025 22:21

Is it only me who’s wondering what OP’s friend’s new(ish) DH sees in this awful woman?

Unless he’s just as cheeky and entitled as she is..

Christmasandallthetrimmings · 22/01/2025 22:22

Just wondering if she could have even have sent it off for repair if she had no receipt or proof of transaction for it in the first place?

It didn't need to be repaired! She had simply stolen it and told a pack of lies.

Kingsleadhat · 22/01/2025 21:13

And that's a wrap

🤭💥💫🤣

latetothefisting · 22/01/2025 22:26

honestly I'd be tempted to pretend I'd never received it if she asks, put the shit up her some more. Anyone could have nicked it from your front doorstep, for all she knew you were away for a few days! She can't prove she delivered it to you, so technically she's still liable for it!
