To think car seat safety groups on Facebook are absolutely mental!

Not sure if many MN members are part of some of the car seat safety groups on Facebook but honestly can’t believe what a mad population they are (and I know MN can also be pretty bonkers!)

Joined for advice on high backed boosters as want to put my almost 5yo in one and all it is is comments about how they should still be rear facing. Seen comments similar aimed at people with almost six year olds looking to forward face.

I completely get the safety aspect and how much safer rear facing is, I really do. And will be rear facing my 4yo as long as possible in my car, but he’s reached the 18kg limit in the seat we have for grandparents to us and it would be nice to just be able to get some advice without just being yelled at for being unsafe.

Honestly can’t believe the negativity and unhelpfulness aimed at people who are even considering forward facing before the age of 6.

I can't say I've been on any of these groups before or ever encountered this lady, but it sounds to me like she has other stuff going on. Perhaps she has developed an alcohol problem or something.

Yes I'd much rather trust random strangers on the internet.

@heroinechic - This is why I left the group! Apart from the fact that the page seems like a cult with all the little followers agreeing with every single post she makes and will abuse anyone who says differently
The page itself really isn’t helpful, they continue to shame mothers for asking a simple question!

I looked of Trust Pilot at Gabi’s reviews. My god - she’s actually really classist towards some people and basically an awful human with delusions of grandeur

The Facebook group is closed for comments while there’s a “police investigation” 🤣🤣I’m sure the police have nothing better to do than investigate someone being a bit mean to an absolute car seat nut job on social media. Sooo dramatic!!

I haven't seen any of the comments and I really want to know what happened 😂😂

My children are old enough that rear facing seats didn't exist after the infant car seats.
I don't doubt that rear facing seats are safer. But doesn't the child get terribly bored looking at the fabric of the car seat,?
( Again, I am not saying boredom is a more important factor than safety, but am genuinely interested).

Mine can see out the side window and the rear window because her seat is really high. So she doesn't get bored. She also doesn't know any different!

Yeah I 100% doubt the police are even involved 😂 she's a nutter

I hope they actually are involved so that they can address all the times Gabi has used customers information from booking to call them relentlessly, threaten to show up at their home, message them abuse across all their social media platforms and threaten to contact their workplace after they left a negative review!

@Lumirubin - What's happened with the FB group then? I came off it and can't even see the group anymore so potentially i've been blocked for some reason?! Why has it gone viral?
