yes you are, bonkers woman

BroccoliSpears · 04/05/2008 21:23

YABU.
You were happy with the price you paid at the time.

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2008 21:23

what? what do you want them to do about it? presumably you were happy with the price when you bought it?

bluebell82 · 04/05/2008 21:24

tried that one... apparently can only reurn if faulty and even then they couldn't resell it back to me as they can't sell faulty goods.....! I just feel robbed of £200 and can't understand why they think its OK!

duchesse · 04/05/2008 21:24

Yes, obviously you are being unreasonable. I'm sure you're pissed off about it, but can you seriously expect them to arrange their sales around your buying schedule?

TheFallenMadonna · 04/05/2008 21:24

Isn't that how sales work?

scottishmummy · 04/05/2008 21:24

damn it is so annoying when that happens. shame

bluebell82 · 04/05/2008 21:25

I was happy at the time but then some lucky bugger is going to buy exactly the same TV for £200 cheaper, I don't think that is fair really.. are you telling me you wouldn't be slightly annoyed!

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2008 21:25

"I just feel robbed of £200 and can't understand why they think its OK!"

are you really being serious? what are you on about?

morningpaper · 04/05/2008 21:26

how much reserach did you do before buying it?

bluebell82 · 04/05/2008 21:26

God how mean is everyone on here this glorious Sunday evening! Thought this was a place to vent frustrations no matter how minor, I will bottle it up in future!

OP posts:
iamdingdong · 04/05/2008 21:27

how much did you pay for it? presumably you paid what you considered a good price?

morningpaper · 04/05/2008 21:28

no you numpty

next time

  • download Which? report on item in question
  • check out online prices to find the cheapest on the market
  • go with co-op electricals which is probably the cheapest AND has extra warranties

ta-da

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2008 21:28

I can understand why you're hacked off, but not why you think Sainsburys have robbed you or that they ought to do something about it

if you had said "I am so upset about this" and left it there, I think you would have got the response you wanted

morningpaper · 04/05/2008 21:28

now lie still while we kick you

princessmel · 04/05/2008 21:29

Link please, dh would love a new tv

jingleyjen · 04/05/2008 21:29

DH reckons that if you have your receipt that you can take it back and get a full no quibble refund. (sainsbury customer services policy)
then just buy a new one at the cheaper rate.

onebatmother · 04/05/2008 21:29

agreed bluebell - nothing you can do, realistically, and you haven't really been hard done by by Sainsbury's - but I totally understand your fury. I would be spitting tacks or sobbing.

jingleyjen · 04/05/2008 21:30

for what its worth John Lewis certainly have a policy where by if something is reduced within a couple of weeks of you buying it you can apply for them to refund you the difference

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2008 21:30

mp I prefer it when they keep flailing around
more of a challenge

bluebell82 · 04/05/2008 21:33

I used to work at GAP and they had the same policy... I think I am more annoyed at myself as moaned on at dh to get a new tv so we could make more space for our dd... and as usual my impatience has come and bit me on the arse... I take all your points on board though I am just the stupid cow who didn't research first.. it just seemed like such a good deal at the time!!! I am a marketing persons dream- honestly!

Oliveoil · 04/05/2008 21:33

have you gone in and glared at the manager?

scottishmummy · 04/05/2008 21:34

FrannyandZooey · 04/05/2008 21:37

now she's more hacked off

I am amazed anyone would even think that they have a right to get this money back
