Reform UK neck and neck with Labour?

NeatDog · 10/01/2025 11:09

Absolutely shocked to read that in a poll Reform UK are neck and neck with Labour...

About 25% polling share for Reform and Labour.

I thought Blair was the worst PM ever, but Starmer seems to be giving him a run for his money.

I have to say, I think Labour has had its day. The Labour supporters here are badly out of touch with reality.

always the same with the right, who incidentally have overseen a trebling in immigration, to start calling the left names... now we are all out of touch...

Too much Ket maybe?

Thinking you're going to overthrow the government and bring in Nigel Farage is out of touch with reality.

Edited

I would say, that Reform UK is now the party of the working man/ woman.

Why is race being brought into it@NeatDog? You've mentioned white people being targeted and not very subtly hinted at it, yet not all Brits are white and not all immigrants are non-white.

To be fair, I think the Tories are out of touch as well.

Not women, Farage has shown his disdain for women - especially working mothers.

You may say that, but you are wrong.

Reform UK PLC will never be in government.

Eta: they are already falling put with each other

I disagree Tice and Farage wont save anyone, least of all the average working man or woman.

They have no policies.

Can you tell me what they would about x channel dinghies?

Not just the shark, more like jumped the Meg.

I'll give you a better question.

Why, given that Reform have no policies, have they galvanised such momentum off the shallow promise of simply asking some of the right questions? Labour could have knocked the wind out of their sails months ago if they had enough confidence in themselves and the working class not to frame their concerns in the terms of the far right.

Good call.

I expect those people are paying for their habits themselves not expecting the tax payer to pay for them as the illegal immigrants do.

Illegal immigrants don't expect taxpayer handouts (unless they are very clever fraudsters). Claiming benefits would bring them to the attention of the authorities, which, if they are illegal, they don't want.

Err they did, Reform 4 MPs Labour 402

So "Bad call"

Yeah, banning political parties because you don't like them. That's been tried before and it didn't end well...

Reform is not a political party it is a limited company

PandoraSox · 10/01/2025 19:58

I don't think Reform UK PLC should be banned. There is no need. It will fall apart soon enough.

I think the 1,500 women getting sexually assaulted on NY day in Germany would disagree.

Just leaving ok what has happened in Sweden. Women are afraid to go out at night now.

Knife crime might be lower if we allowed guns.

The tax payer is clearly giving them too much money if they can afford cigarettes and vaping.

Barbadossunset · 10/01/2025 20:02

@HappyPanda613
Are you going to answer my question as what test you think citizens should take before they are allowed to vote?

caringcarer · 10/01/2025 20:02

If they are receiving money from the taxpayer they are not illegal immigrants. Why do you not understand that?

Gtfto2024 · 10/01/2025 20:06

Looking at all the deletions on this thread, it appears that free speech is indeed not a thing, at least on mnet.

My point has been made plenty of times.

dingledangledoos · 10/01/2025 20:07

@caringcarer how are illegal immigrants getting tax payer handouts? That's an oxymoron, surely? Illegal = under the radar.

Be annoyed about too many asylum seekers if you wish but the lazy trope about "illegal immigrants" is just plain ridiculous.

So finally we can stop pretending the UK is not a racist country!

How can an entire country be racist?

HappyPanda613 · 10/01/2025 11:28

Reform need to be banned immediately before they start to get political traction amongst the working class in the north of England.

This is all the fault of X, and I hope Keir Starmer and the Labour have a robust plan for sanctioning social media sites that allow disinformation free reign to be accessed by ordinary people who do not possess the ability to sift fact from fiction.

Frightening times.

No one could hate Reform more than I do; but why 'the working class in the north of England' in particular? That's making you sound a bit like Maggie Thatcher! I llve in what was the South East England constituency for the Europaean Parliament, when we were still in the EU. Not remotely Northern. Varied social composition, but on the whole fairly middle class. And we had 10 MEPs; and usually 4 of them were UKIP/ Brexit Party, including Farage himself. So why pick on the northern working class?

Everything about Musk gives me the creeps.
Agree 100% re Starmer.
I really hope he holds firm and keeps his nerve. He should also be summoning the US ambassador and demanding why a US citizen is inciting rebellion towards the UK government.

I was wondering the same thing
