To think Elon Musk has gone nuts

What on earth is going on with him. Calling for Nagel Farage to resign. Now wanting the PM to resign amd said we have a tyrannical government. It's all a bit odd.

He was a footballer and sports commentator, not a weatherman.

But yes, another guru type.

Sorry it was a long time ago. I have a vague memory of a shell suit for some reason as well.

CheeseTime · 06/01/2025 19:36

Almn0etd · 06/01/2025 19:29

Yeah so nuts that he is part of the most powerful government in the world.

It almost comical watching randoms on the internet passing judgement on mega powerful people who literally run their lives and influence virtually every aspect of the world they live in. And then feeling all superior and smug as though they are smarter than the mega powerful.

Must be denial or something.

I don’t have the inherited wealth, inclination or penis to be required to stand up to him but appreciate being allowed to have an opinion on him however humble and stupid I may be.

Is that OK?

AnonymousBleep · 06/01/2025 19:37

SensibleSigma · 06/01/2025 19:33

Who? I haven’t seen that. The last I saw he was happy to get into a ding dong with anyone. Fewer people being banned than used to be was my last impression.

He's banned a bunch of people for even slightly criticising him in the last few days alone.

lifeonmars100 · 06/01/2025 19:37

Gone12 · 06/01/2025 18:34

I don't think he's even human.

hence the interest in Mars!

SignificantSalamander · 06/01/2025 19:37

Longma · 06/01/2025 19:21

I don't think he's eligible, thankfully.

Ooh excellent, why not?

RhannionKPSS · 06/01/2025 19:37

It’s hilarious 😆

AnonymousBleep · 06/01/2025 19:37

SignificantSalamander · 06/01/2025 19:37

Ooh excellent, why not?

He's South African.

He's so bad I actually feel that Trump would do better without him.

Yes, and that's quite a statement!

Locutus2000 · 06/01/2025 19:38

Sunshineandoranges · 06/01/2025 19:34

Surely every row he starts makes money for him on X. People should boycott X and reduce his wealth and power.

On a personal level I have a customisable block filter on my browser.

More generally it's a shame about the lack of a viable alternative, Bluesky not there yet.

justasking111 · 06/01/2025 19:38

I'm off to have a peek at twitter.

I suspect if I enquired about his bladder issues my feet wouldn't touch the ground.

Uricon2 · 06/01/2025 19:38

AnonymousBleep · 06/01/2025 19:35

This doesn't make any sense. Why would people feel smug at criticising Elon Musk for having too much control of their lives? Most people don't think him having too much control of their lives is a good thing. Why would they? He's never been elected to any kind of power. He's not even smart. He's just got lots of money because he started off being given a diamond mine by his daddy, which gave him a headstart over everyone else.

Lots like Trump, another who has built his career on inherited wealth and made an entire bollocks of that, most of the time. His financial history does not inspire confidence..

healthybychristmas · 06/01/2025 19:38

He seems to be wanting Tommy Robinson to be the leader of reform. I can't understand how someone for another country is allowed to put billions into a political party here. Surely the rules don't allow that?

FictionalCharacter · 06/01/2025 19:39

What will be most interesting to see will be the inevitable falling out between him and Trump. Trump won’t stand for being upstaged and someone else appearing to have ideas. He only wants sycophants who do nothing but praise and worship him. Musk isn’t doing that. He has too much of an ego of his own and there’s no room for that alongside Trump’s.
As well as that, Trump and his handlers must be realising that Musk is a liability. He was useful because he used money to help get Trump elected. They’ll get rid of him soon enough.

Floppyelf · 06/01/2025 19:39

lobsterkiller · 06/01/2025 18:32

He's prescribed ketamine, ragging about how much he can tolerate. Tthat's going to have an impact at some point mentally and physically.

Wow, if he’s using that much drugs he won’t last long. The world would definitely be a better place.

They don't. Reform isn't a political party. It's run as a business.

lifeonmars100 · 06/01/2025 19:40

Cattery · 06/01/2025 19:20

He needs to wind his neck in. He’s unelected plus what’s our government got to do with him? Talk about too much money

Interesting to see he's not having a pop at Russia or China, too big and too powerful I reckon , plus he doesn't speak the languages

Ponoka7 · 06/01/2025 19:41

JingsMahBucket · 06/01/2025 18:39

Still a racist white South African who think thinks the world owes him everything. Pure apartheid thinking.

Edited

He'll be mounting pavements in his car, keeping women silent in the house, running around with a knife next. Oh sorry no, but he's white, so definite statements about his character can be made based on one of his country of origin.

BIossomtoes · 06/01/2025 19:41

AnonymousBleep · 06/01/2025 19:40

They don't. Reform isn't a political party. It's run as a business.

It’s registered with the Electoral Commission as a political party

Almn0etd · 06/01/2025 19:41

hihelenhi · 06/01/2025 19:32

Erm, people in powerful governments ARE often nuts.

See Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Henry VIII, Caligula etc.

The "being in powerful governments" thing doesn't make someone automatically non-nuts. Quite the opposite, if the history of world leaders is anything to go by.

Are you going to claim we're all "jealous" of Elon next?

Ah yes the customary equivalence to Fascism etc. Everyone you don’t agree with must be a neo nazi.

Very imaginative. And original. But not surprising.

That’s a shame. He’s never been particularly consistent. Depends what he’s interested in at any given moment. Hyper focus. Comes on and off like a tap, for some people.

Hubris-Atis-Nemesis-Tisis: An ancient universal law

(I think he has exited the Hubris stage and entered Atis)

It does feel like a play by Euripedes or something.

That's really interesting, thank you.

I was amazed to discover during lockdown (woman I used to work with went all QAnon on the facebook) that he genuinely has loads of followers who take him deadly seriously. I remember him on Wogan with his turquoise tracksuit getting an absolute pasting in the UK press and finding very little traction for his ideas. Not now! What's happened to us? Is it just down to the internet?

Tomatotater · 06/01/2025 19:43

AnonymousBleep · 06/01/2025 19:37

He's banned a bunch of people for even slightly criticising him in the last few days alone.

He's also suing loads of advertisers for pulling out of Twitter after he told them to fuck off.
If he gave a damn about rape or child grooming he would be working with his fellow billionnaire tech bros and work with governments to stop it happening on their platforms. Except he and them couldn't care less.

Hwi · 06/01/2025 19:44

SuzieNine · 06/01/2025 18:26

Well, he’s gone one step further and has started a poll on X asking if the US should liberate the UK from its tyrannical government. Just like the US has done to so many other countries.

Oh, shit, have they found oil in the UK?
