To think Elon Musk has gone nuts

1000 replies

Viviennemary · 06/01/2025 18:15

What on earth is going on with him. Calling for Nagel Farage to resign. Now wanting the PM to resign amd said we have a tyrannical government. It's all a bit odd.

Thanks @noblegiraffe. I haven't been in that situation I don't think. I'm not sure I've ever read the rules either so I'm off to find them now. Grin

So you are suggesting I'm not genuine?

So you are suggesting I'm not genuine?

Were you suggesting other posters aren’t? It certainly looks that way.

FennelPotion · 07/01/2025 14:37

This thread is well dodgy. Some normal posters and some...

FennelPotion · 07/01/2025 14:38

Thank you Mumsnet 💟

FennelPotion · 07/01/2025 14:44

Anyway, let's hope Starmer and Labour learn from this mess? Coming back to the original post, no Elon is not nuts, he's influential, extremely well connected internationally and very powerful for the time being. He is meddling in European politics and our weak and incompetent politicians aren't managing it very well.

Goldenbear · 07/01/2025 14:45

Very much in the way that is fuelled with self- righteousness. You are so reactionary about others that don't align with your outlook that it is implicit in your posts that people must think like you or otherwise they will not be listened to, they will be belittled and made out to be unstable. How does any of the behaviour you exhibit indicate a desire for free speech.(Rhetorical by the way).

Equally, I have used inverted single commas correctly as I am highlighting a word, a word that is relevant to my point.

Goldenbear · 07/01/2025 14:46

FennelPotion · 07/01/2025 14:04

Feel free to quote any of my posts to back up your suggestion that I am 'forcing others to think the same way'. (which way would that be then?)

The whole of Mumsnet consists of opinions so no need to add IMO, that would be just silly.

And why, please tell, are you putting your "views" in inverted commas? Please explain and back it up Or one have to assume something on your end is malfunctioning or insincere.

He's always been like this. It was just easier for him to hide it before he bought twitter to use as his personal blog and became a serving member of the incoming US government.

Yes totally agree and I would broaden that to say that the entire world has always been run like this too; presidents and prime ministers have always been under the influence of media moguls and wealthy industrialists; these machinations are just much less private now.

I'm sorry are you confusing me with another poster? I have not made a single comment on freedom of speech (if that's what you mean by free speech, it's not clear). Also tell me where I have belittled people? Also, not sure what you mean by "you're so reactionary"? In what way do my posts suggest that I'm opposed to necessary progress or opposing political or social change? Most odd. Maybe some crossed wires. Time for a hot drink.

Gtfto2024 · 07/01/2025 15:00

If you're talking about the post with your "evidence", I reported it as disinformation. I will happily debate and discuss, and swear as it is allowed on here. Disinformation, lies and twisting of facts to suit an agenda is disingenuous and I will happily report it.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 07/01/2025 15:02

verdantverdure · 07/01/2025 14:26

I don't think posts have to be reported to be removed @FennelPotion.

I must admit I thought Mumsnet probably messaged you to say why.

Which Mumsnet rule do you think your post broke?

They do have to be reported to be deleted. Are you new to MN?

SallyWD · 07/01/2025 15:04

I've despised Musk ever since there the Thai boys got stuck in a cave. A man rescued them and Musk seemed to be so consumed with seething resentment that this man was getting all the glory that he called him a paedophile. There was absolutely no evidence that this man was a paedophile. The fact that he could tell this blatant lie to the entire world with absolutely no concern for the consequences, shows he's not a man to be trusted.
This one incident told me everything I need to know about Elon Musk. Now he's sucking up to Trump and Tommy Robinson. It's no surprise. Vile man.

verdantverdure · 07/01/2025 15:12

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne

Hi, thank you. No I'm not new, I just didn't really know how it worked.

NobelGiraffe has also explained and I have read the rules now. (And I have posted screenshots below.)

He's prescribed ketamine, ragging about how much he can tolerate. Tthat's going to have an impact at some point mentally and physically.

Who is his dealer?

There must be an entire ecosystem of flunkies feeding off him and his daddy issues

Barr77 · 07/01/2025 15:15

7plusthinking · 07/01/2025 08:35

I think that has more to do with the normalisation of far right views more than anything.

A lot of this involves pushing back on any criticism of repugnant views as part of a woke, controlling virus ( Musk) This is especially true with transphobia.

Overusing terms like "far right" risks diluting their meaning and diminishing the warning they’re meant to convey.

Much like the cries of "commie" during McCarthyism, misapplying these labels fosters a culture of cynicism—just look at how many were called "bigoted transphobes" for advocating sex-based rights, inviting ridicule.

Over time, this overuse creates shrugging indifference, as the terms become so over-applied that they lose their impact, enabling their normalisation through misuse.

verdantverdure · 07/01/2025 15:15

Musk wasn't really on my radar until he started interfering in the democracy of our country.

British law is British law and no business of his.

His social media posts on the topic are seriously misleading but I can't tell if he lacks critical thinking skills or is aiming to mislead on purpose.

verdantverdure · 07/01/2025 15:17

Fascism always claims it isn't fascism.

I believe it's deliberate and targeted.
He's highly intelligent and noticeably manipulative.

Whereas Trump is extremely stupid and highly manipulative.

They would both score highly on the Hare Psychopathy Checklist (PCL-R).

Crikeyalmighty · 07/01/2025 15:29

@Alexandra2001 I couldn't agree more with your post at 14.23 - All these pivotal things that only now become'emergencies' or issues seemingly blamed on Labour when strangely they received little negative traction on here and in other places under the Tory's. I'm all for these subjects receiving attention and action but to imply it's an emergency purely down to Labour is disingenuous at best when they have been in opposition for 14 years-and the only politician who had a real focus on these issues and keeping in the public eye (Jess) is actually a Labour politician

Crikeyalmighty · 07/01/2025 15:34

@FennelPotion I agree with your point about activists, very much the same across all party's- I'm definitely not one- as you say I am suspicious when posters only ever post on politically motivated posts - whereas myself I like a full range of forums as do many other posters I see on here-

cardibach · 07/01/2025 15:41

Livelovebehappy · 07/01/2025 13:23

Of course he wont openly identify the far right he references are Reform or Tory. Dont be silly. He's not stupid, but many statements he has made in the past imply that. That's politicians - its what they dont say thats important, not what they do say....

So you mean you’ve decided that’s what he’s hinting at and you will judge him for it despite him never saying it? Though as it goes Jenrick has said some pretty extreme right wing things in the last couple of days.
