I don't dislike dogs what I dislike is dog owners who think there dogs are more important than my children. You dog might be friendly but I'm not willing to test your theory on my babies.
Your dog should never be closer to me/my family than it is you? If your dogs recall isn't good it shouldn't be off lead when other people are around!

As long as you keep your kids away from my dog. He is not keen on kids, they make him anxious!

YANBU this pisses me off so badly. I fucking hate dogs and I detest their owners that say 'he won't bite' when I ask them to get their dog away from me.

As long as your child has a similar recall! Many a time, I have had to ask the parent to stop their child hurting my dog.

As a dog owner, I can’t stand it either.

I had two on my walk with my dog just now, letting their dogs run up to my dog, jump on me. I training my dog as she’s young and over friendly with other dogs (and I currently have a back injury so I can’t be pulled by my dog), so when I see people coming, I tie her lead to the fence so she can’t pull me. They see that, they see me training her to keep her eyes on me/not react to other people and dogs and they still fucking persist with the “he’s friendly! He just wants to say hello!” bullshit.

Responsible owners, of which, thank god, there are more of, will put their dog on a lead/keep them close and walk past us with no fuss or chatter, which is what they should do walking past anyone.

Sounds like target fixation.
