The tories aren't right wing, they are centered best. Cop on!

Ah, the "cop on" cop out when you've run out of steam for your argument. 😂

KS was the one that started prosecuting these gangs!

Starmer says he gave 'the green light' to prosecute in Rochdale but the timeline here credits Afzal for making the decision to prosecute;

June 2011
Chief prosecutor Nazir Afzal reverses decision not to prosecute the two who had been arrested and eventually authorises the charging of ten men.

Of course it counts. But she's one victim out of 250k, so I'd like to hear from the majority to see if they want a new inquiry or if they'd rather the money be spent within those communities to help the girls currently in the grip of the gangs.

Edited

I absolutely agree that money needs to be spent on a local level to prevent further atrocities & protect children. But surely funding can be found for both if a new enquiry is ordered.
I want to know if there are people who turned a blind eye still working with vulnerable children. And if so , why?

Yes I do. They are more conservative than Labour who i consider left leaning but certainly not right wing.

They were racing to out right wing each other in the leadership contest. Anybody who thinks Badenoch is anything other than screamingly right wing is delusional.

Are you capable of absorbing and processing information @Chainzreaction ? Just curious, because agree or disagree, you seem impervious.

I think there should be a basic IQ test before people are allowed to vote, OP is my justification for this view.

Grooming gangs tend to come from close knit communities. Be that a war torn village or a certain part of certain churches or corporations.

The IICSA report acknowledges that, as did Priti Patel, hence the need for profiling as defined in most of the reports.

Elon picked his target for political gain.

I've got to say today has been educational. I knew some of the background, had read a couple of reports. But feck me, there is loads of stuff out there. Read the Wikipedia pages, hunt down reports from Central gov, Greater Manchester, keep googling and look around. Things have changed.

It ain't perfect, DH worked in SEN with just this type of kid. Believe me there are girls who are targeted for CSE and boys who are targeted for county line plus some overlap. Everywhere these kids are moved, the predators find them. Some kids end up in remote houses with a 3 adults to one child ratio. Making our kids safe needs work, from conception onwards.

That’s really interesting. I’m not sure whether this makes it easier or harder to potentially to tackle.

In your DH’s experience, does it happen across all demographics?

Have you seen the state of the public coffers? There's no money for anything. The last inquiry cost £6m and took years. So if there's a choice between the two, surely saving girls currently being targeted by gangs is more important.

I don't think they were at all.. "Right wing " each other or talking common sense??

Either way I voted Labour, I was very disillusioned with the tories since covid & all of Boris's antics. They showed no remorse & partied when we couldn't visit our loved ones.

IICSA wasn’t limited to particular authorities.

I've been referring to the 2022 Jay report, as that is the one that everyone has been discussing.

https://www.ucl.ac.uk/news/2020/dec/analysis-new-home-office-report-admits-grooming-gangs-are-not-muslim-problem

"For many in Britain today the term “grooming gang” immediately suggests Pakistani-heritage Muslim men abusing white girls, but the Home Office researchers now tell us that “research has found that group-based offenders are most commonly White”."

That is from 2020. The Jay report of 2022 specifically says that police and local authorities were failing to record data of the ethnicity of offenders. So that is clearly not a conclusion that can be supported.

Totallymessed · 03/01/2025 21:59

I've been referring to the 2022 Jay report, as that is the one that everyone has been discussing.

Which arose from the IICSA. The inquiry wasn’t limited to particular authorities and I’ve just checked again and can’t find any indication the Jay report limited itself either.

Common sense, eh? Something you seem in short supply of. I don’t for a second believe that you voted Labour just a few months ago, but now believe Musk is the saviour.

I call bollocks on everything you’ve said. You’re either a troll or a bot or just an utter dimwit. Get me deleted for troll hunting if you want. You’re ridiculous.

I get where you are coming from. I would like to see much more poured into local communities & also into education to protect children & young girls from these predators.

But I also feel if there are people out there who had knowledge & failed to act. These people must not be left walk away ,they must be investigated. This may mean opening a criminal investigation into cover ups. Why were individuals protecting the rapists instead of the children & young adults?

OP posts:
YourFunnyMauveSnake · 03/01/2025 22:03

100%

I will go as far as to say there has been a full blown cover up.

The establishment KNEW about these Muslim gangs. I am British Sikh and in the early 2000s talks were being held at Sikh temples raising awareness on Muslim men targeting Sikh girls. We discussed their tactics - they would wear Sikh articles of faith to pretend to be Sikh, they would buy gifts and secret phones, get girls drunk and blackmail them with compromising photos. There was a helpline. I was told how to avoid falling prey.

Police were informed but nothing happened for DECADES.

How many lives could have been saved had we been listen to. We believe Sikh girls were the initial targets.

The talks were called “Kaur to Khan”.

The dynamics of why this was allowed to go n need to be examined. Too many people just wanting to cover their arse. More people, vulnerable women most likely, will be the ones paying the price otherwise.

It boils my piss.
