The inquiry proposals are being implemented. People who care about CSA are aware of that.

There are other people who have chosen to spread misinformation for their own reasons. Those people do not have the best I treats of children at heart.

i suspect the OP understands exactly what is happening and chooses to post accordingly. I’ll stop engaging now.

So hang on, if I don't support a second enquiry, as many people far more informed and involved than myself don't, I am pro child rape??

Why don't you support a second enquiry? Yes the rapists are behind bars but what about all the authority figures who were aware but did nothing?

Grabs popcorn after part 1 got so weird... maybe we could get a view from Kim Jong Um or Vladimir Putin next? Wait they are actual leaders, just need a random billionaire to step in....

No middle ground Sooty . You are either for or against the raping & drugging of tweets .
How is that rubbish? There is no grey area.

People have tried to explain to you. 🙄

Bakedpotatoes · 03/01/2025 14:54

Chainzreaction · 03/01/2025 14:50

Why didn't labour do anything while they were in opposition?!

Do you understand how government works? The party in power enacts change. Labour now they are in power are implementing the inquiry findings, what else do you want them to do? The Tories did fuck all for 2 years with the findings and are now dragging labour with Elon's support despite them being in power for 14 years.

I think anybody calling out children being drugged & raped have their best interests at heart.. the ones staying silent are the ones to be concerned about.

Well the tories themselves want an enquiry. It's labours right as opposition to demand change & keep the pressure on the party in power until that change is implemented.

Yes. But if you don't condone the drugging & raping of tweets then surely it is fantastic to put the spotlight on England & show the world what exactly happened.

Musk was subpoenaed in the Jeffrey Epstein case.

He hasn’t condemned Epstein for grooming, just called him a crook.

Your knight in shining armour has feet of clay.

This thread and the utter lack of understanding why we should be worrying about someone like Musk interfering with UK politics makes me despair. "But he only care about the poor girls" is utter utter bullshit. he doesn't. He cares about getting his own way. He cares about being seen as the most important person.

Remember what happened when he didn't get his own way with his subs when the rescue of the kids in Thailand was happening? He accused the person who pointed out his subs wouldn't fit a paedophile and tried to wreck that mans life.

He does NOT care about bringing this issue to light for the greater good. I doubt there is a good cell in that mans body. But thanks to people like him, I now don't have the choice to live anywhere but the UK which is utterly utterly depressing.

Considering he's a US citizen , you'd think hed focus more on the crimes in his own country wouldnt you

As for the post of 9.07, I can only find this:

"I watched Tommy Robinson's documentary on this a while back and I was so shocked at the cover up. Anyone who can help force the government to finally take action against these monsters is welcome to do so in my opinion."

This is very far from MNers cheerleading for president elect musk and tommy Robinson, the gaslight is sadly very real on this thread.

These women didn't get support back because the culture was not right, they didn't get support because the origin of the perpetrators was not right, and now, because the supporter is not right. Their plight always comes second to ulterior motives.

All the women trying to minimise, whatabout and gaslight what happened because a guy they don't like has an opinion about it, it's not right.
It's not because some women agree with Musk on 1 issue they turn into his stans on everything, the oversimplification and black and white tunnel vision is extreme and the contempt for other women is real.

Yes.

Yes. Everything you say is correct. Particular note to whataboutery, gaslighting and misogyny. The current incarnation of the Labour Party represent everyone of these.

(I would say Bingo. But someone on the last thread didn’t like that. They said they wouldn’t listen to anyone who said ‘Bingo’. I guess they don’t play Bingo).

More to the point, why didn't they do anything when they were in government?

The scandal ran from 1997 to 2013

This is why:

www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/jan/02/ex-chief-prosecutor-rejects-musks-calls-for-new-child-abuse-inquiry

We don't need another inquiry, we need the government to implement the findings of the previous inquiry. The Labour government says that they are doing just that, I guess time will tell.

But the inquiry has happened, on their watch. Labour did, in fact, Jess Phillips who everyone was castigating was putting pressure on them. They did nothing.

Not at all. All government failings need to be exposed.
As I said there is no middle ground here. The ones who are trying to defend or deflect are the problem not the ones exposing or demanding answers
There is no middle ground when it comes to the sexual exploration of young children.

There was an inquiry. The Tories didn’t act on it. The Tories, also, didn’t care
when Boris Johnson said investigating historical child sex abuse cases was “spaffing money up the wall.” Funny how they’ve allegedly found some morals now, isn’t it? 🤔

Araminta1003 · 03/01/2025 15:02

Even if Starmer were some how complicit/negligent in his role as DPP- well it would be nothing on Trump’s legal history?!
Or some of the people who Trump has appointed.
So whilst we all understand that Elon doesn’t like Starmer, he is a hypocrite because he is camp Trump.

People like Elon will be piling on the pressure for a reason. It will be to do with Ukraine, Israel and trade relations with the U.K. - it’s trying to make us their lap dog. Before we know what happens in the German elections, it’s difficult to position ourselves optimally in any event as regards EU/US trade.
