One thing to improve life

Happy New Year.

Going into 2025 I'm looking for things to improve my life. I'm just wondering what one thing have you done that has seriously improved your life?

I'm not looking for marriage/children, things like that. Simple things like taking a regular vitamin, starting yoga, drinking more water, learning to say no, creative writing, decluttering, going vegan...

This has plagued me my whole life. I absolutely hate it but cannot seem to thwart it. It is absolutely awful.

I will do ANYTHING other than what I need to be doing. Daydreaming, scrolling, dithering. Sometimes I think because I've always managed to pull it off, the shit has not hit the fan, it's just ingrained but I'd love to change.

I've read books, implemented techniques, been mindful, watched ted talks but it wins over everything in the end.

In case you haven't seen:

You are all describing what may be ADHD symptoms.
Getting a diagnosis is a game changer; even if you don't use meds the understanding that you're not just lazy or useless takes a huge amount of stress and anxiety away.
There are so many tactics to help ADHD that can make such a difference.

Thanks everyone, this has been really helpful.

I actually bought a sofa. My sofa is very narrow and uncomfortable and I spend a lot of time on it so I decided that that's what I can do to improve my life at the moment. I made sure the seat depth was very wide.

I gave up drinking five years ago and it has really improved my life so that's a great suggestion. I already take supplements and am really trying to look after my health this year.

I'm currently decluttering my place and have a couple of rooms to go. The feeling is amazing and I'd definitely recommend it.

Being better organised is a great idea. I need to write a list of short and long term things to do.

I used to regularly do Tai Chi, so getting back into that is definitely a goal.

I am also looking at doing some professional refresher courses, to update my knowledge in my field. I would also like to increase my social circle.

Happy New Year.
