Not outrageously priced but great quality bedding?

Posting for traffic! You lovely mumsnet lot seem to always be in the know with these things!

Me and DH would like to treat ourselves to some new bedding. We want to buy a new 6ft duvet and also some lovely great quality bedding to go on it, that can preferably be tumble dried (but will settle without it). What sites are worth checking out? Any good sales on? I haven't shopped for this in years so would appreciate any suggestions!

I have m&s 400 thread count, but find it doesn’t last more than 2-3 years. Went to replace, but seems to now be a sateen finish, which I don’t want.

So now looking for cool and crisp, plain white Egyptian cotton 400 tc or above. But at M&S prices. Anyone seen anything in the sales?

Another vote for the Dorma range - one of our sets is over 10 years old and still washing/wearing well (unlike come more expensive sets we've had). Feels lovely and silky.

I forgot to mention that Dorma use zips on their duvet covers (and some pillowcases), which I really like. A lot quicker to fasten than buttons or press studs. I haven't checked that's across their entire range, mind you

John Lewis Egyptian cotton in the soft and silky range is absolutely gorgeous to sleep on. I’ve had pure mulberry silk before and that felt luscious but isn’t as intrinsically strong as pure cotton and didn’t last very well. The JL soft and silky feels very like pure silk but also lasts well.

Stacey Solomon's range at Asda is lovely and all 100% cotton. I won't buy polycotton, I don't like the feel of it.

I too think The Fine Bedding Company has very good quality products @TargetLover55
