I feel pissed because Tomorrow I was supposed to be going on holiday for New Year

My holiday got cancelled on Boxing Day just after the final ticket e'mail came through. They had double booked the Chalet. My £3000 flights are still booked, feel like turning up to chalet anyway and knocking the door down. I am so angry, how can they do this to people.

Surely you can claim on travel insurance? Bad luck though and really dissaoinying you can’t go. - but hope you can rebook something another time

If you can afford £3000 tickets, you can afford to book something else for your accommodation, especially as you'll be getting a refund!

What does this mean? Surely flights "to a country with chalets" will cost more or less depending where in the world you are flying from? OP uses the phrase "pissed" when in the UK we'd typically say "pissed off" so perhaps she's flying from the States?

You can only book accommodation if it’s available, there’s a good chance that nothing will be at short notice.

and just because someone can afford one thing doesn’t mean they have infinite amount of money and can afford everything else

We don't think you can claim flight but we will try.

It was for five of us. We live in Devon so flights from Bristol are expensive.

They have tried everywhere today but nothing at all suitable available.

Just got angry and tearful when it all happened, I think I am calming down now. Realised after reading these posts much more worries than mine in the world. I don't think it helped I had Influenza (I think) last week and haven't eaten anything for 5 days. Slept through most of Christmas, Couldn't move a muscle - Horrid. Anyway am on the mend now and going to make the most of the next few days of the Holidays.
