My BIL has just left and was such a grumpy sod for the whole time he was here. 🙄 I wanted to shake him but DH told me to just leave it, it's just what he's like... and don't I know that's true!!

What about you? Who got on your nerves?

My sister in law.

Cares about no one, talks only about herself, knows everything and is a pain in the ass.
And not just at Christmas.

Oh and has the inability to say thank you.

My MIL and her control of our remote control. No one else can take the control or watch anything that she doesn't want to watch.

BIL , for pointing out and laughing at my recent weight gain (due to antidepressants) right before Xmas dinner …..I skipped dessert and he’s off the Xmas list next year

mumpea · 27/12/2024 20:22

Without a doubt my brother in law or should I say ... the chocolate teapot! Got an air b and b close by for 700 quid so he could give us space but managed to figure out mealtime sat his pretty little butt on the sofa while everyone cooked and entertained the kids.
We watched a movie Christmas Day and only at the end of the movie did he offer chocolate as he obviously didn't want to share or anybody try to scoff to many! He went halfers on a bottle of wine for me with his Mum Xmas Blush

RM2013 · 27/12/2024 20:23

Adult SC and their awful partner for their snide comments and general rudeness and their child for being spoilt and grabby (not really their fault but definitely how parents have brought them up)

PeloMom · 27/12/2024 20:24

The whoever brought a horrendous cold/flu in our household and we couldn’t go on our vacation as planned.

WolfFleece · 27/12/2024 20:31

Urgh where to start. Toss up between my dad and the person I thought was my best friend.

FIL. Suffering from a 'depressive episode' so didnt speak from Christmas day to Boxing Day (which in turn triggered dh as it reminded him of so many of his child hood Christmases). Miraculously he recovered enough to take himself off to the football on Boxing Day evening and now posting on the family watsapp as if nothing has happened.

Ptsd can be brutal. Unfortunately you FIL probably has a trigger so hard to handle though

Is that you, Becky?
Agreed, she is a pita. Bossy, overbearing and best avoided.

NotThisYearThx · 27/12/2024 19:45

No one, which makes a delightful change! I very likely have pissed off a few people by refusing to be a doormat this year, and I had the best Christmas I’ve had in years. Worth it :)

I am going to aim to be like you next year. Any tips?

ASeriesOfTubes · 28/12/2024 01:47

The local train company, who have cost me the best part of £30 in taxi fares on top of tickets I couldn't use because of overrunning engineering works 😠

Milkbottlewaffle · 28/12/2024 02:24

DM who “didn’t get round” to getting a gift for DS.
An all new low for her and I’ve grown truly tired of her narcissism. There are some serious changes ahead for us in the coming weeks!

My MIL. Fed up with the way she treats my lovely husband. She makes everything about her and she shows zero interest in him or anything he says.

Are you married to my DH?

Pipsquiggle · 28/12/2024 08:01

My FIL and BIL X2

They are actually nice people but by god are they mood hoovers - they can suck the life out of any party. It's like it's their superpower.

Pretty sure they are all autistic - one was officially diagnosed this last year and the other 2 have more pronounced traits than him.

Yesterday they all sat next to each other around the kitchen table, where we all were, in complete silence for over an hour. Didn't say anything to anyone whilst the rest of us played games. Just was very awkward. I get that they might get overwhelmed or need quiet time. Why didn't they just go to another room together so we can have fun without them putting a downer on it

BlackChunkyBoots · 28/12/2024 08:07

My SiL, for being disapproving of everything and treating her grown up kids like primary schoolers.

My neice for being horrible to her brother. He's a nitpicking sort, quite particular, and very rules-based. She took the merciless piss all the way through the biard games. I kept throwing hard stares at their dad to intervene but nope, nothing.

Otherwise, it was a fairly calm one!

DilemmaDelilah · 28/12/2024 09:28

Me! We had a lovely but quiet Christmas with one daughter and grandson, and I was really looking forward to spending yesterday with my other daughter and her family. Instead I spent the whole day in hospital and my daughter and her family missed out on their festive feast. My bloomin heart is playing up again!

DH and his man flu 🙄

My partner was here for a few days (we don’t live together) and he has man flu. The same ‘girl’ flu I had 3 weeks ago but by god was he hard work!

He went home earlier today and I almost caught his heels as I shut the door behind him (not literally!) 😂 Honestly I couldn’t wait for him to go and whinge to himself at home! 🤪

The whole time was crap! It was our 3rd Xmas together but the first one we had Xmas day together (I am a nurse and worked the last three xmases. We did nothing fun and yes he was poorly but man stop being a grump and attempt some kind of being nice!!

Middle sis and I have composed a truth bomb message, which I will send on new year's day to youngest sis. Our partners agree and have contributed to it. It's going to be light the blue touch paper and stand well back, but enough is enough. Middle sis's partner pointed out when she had a wobble that this has gone on long enough, and currently lots of people are hurt, and only one will be by the email.

Now we need all the juice on this, @murasaki

My stepson. Nearly 24. Ridiculously lazy. Entitled. Possibly ASD. Lives with me, DH and my DD.
Never says thankyou for anything, ever
Works from home four days a week and spend the rest of the time laying on his ass.

onefootinfrontoftheotherbabe · 29/12/2024 01:15

Absolutely no-one.
I’m either very lucky or very tolerant

Therealjudgejudy · 29/12/2024 01:32

No one thankfully as i dont suffer fools gladly!
