If it was you?

Not expect as in, he has to be home a certain time, but 5.30 now and still not back..,almost 6 hours at a work lunch 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s a 10 minute drive away

Ours started at 12pm last week. Most left around midnight.

museumum · 23/12/2024 17:57

Probably 8/9pm. My dh couldn’t do a late night if he’s started at lunchtime.

MerryMaker · 23/12/2024 17:58

When we had Christmas work lunches you had to be there until your normal finishing time at work. You could not leave early and expect to be paid.

Ablondiebutagoody · 23/12/2024 17:58

Sometime before breakfast tomorrow and possibly with a couple of colleagues in tow who live further away.

Notanevillandlord · 23/12/2024 17:59

I'd expect him home when he's had enough. He can decide when that will be. I certainly wouldn't expect him home at a certain time.

booisbooming · 23/12/2024 18:00

I would think it was quite a boring party if we didn't go to the pub after lunch and then stay til closing. So pub chucking out time would be average.

If it's a raucous party then maybe later. Eat without him.

youngoldthing · 23/12/2024 18:00

My husband loves a bevvy so probably any time
after midnight

KeeKees · 23/12/2024 18:00

When he's ready.

Discombobble · 23/12/2024 18:01

It’s the day before Christmas Eve - my DH would have been back by about 2am

dreamer24 · 23/12/2024 18:01

No earlier than 8pm, probably later tbh if drinking

StrangewaysHereWeCome · 23/12/2024 18:01

closing time TBH
maybe 8-9pm if driving and not drinking

Lightswontstopflashing · 23/12/2024 18:02

So many party animals 🤣

We’re in another country, I miss the U.K. so much celebrating

For my DP…I would expect him back at 12…delighted with himself because he wouldn’t be bothered going 🤣🤣

handsdownthebest · 23/12/2024 18:03

My work Christmas lunch started at 12 (lunch) and finished at 12 (midnight) 😁

AhBiscuits · 23/12/2024 18:04

Around midnight.

Hadalifeonce · 23/12/2024 18:04

When young free and single, sometimes our Christmas lunch would end some time the following morning!

3luckystars · 23/12/2024 18:05

If drinking then anytime. Definitely after midnight. It could be any time and I’d be gone to bed anyway so wouldn’t care.

AngelinaFibres · 23/12/2024 18:06

First husband would roll in in the early hours having tried to shag somebody from work all evening. Would then wake up and pee all over his pile of clothes on the floor because he would be convinced he was in the bathroom.
Second husband home about 6-7 depending on colleagues. Would have communicated a likely time as would have asked me for a lift.
( no taxis available to our village) . Would be happily tiddly and very grateful for the lift. Would return the favour many times over.

Boxing Day?? #nothelpful

This was actually exH.

Current DH - about 12.30pm because he has a team of nerds. With friends? 12.30am Grin

mitogoshigg · 23/12/2024 18:07

Soon i would expect but then both my exh and my current dh would be calling for a lift or have invited me along

BrendaSmall · 23/12/2024 18:08

my husband would come home when he’s had enough!
He's not a big drinker, lol he very rarely goes to the pub but he has got a nighttime hobby, so he goes out I go to bed and I don’t know if he’s home until I get up in the morning and see he’s at home !

EmsSummer · 23/12/2024 18:08

Whenever really. In the meantime I’d enjoy the remote to myself and the chilled Chardonnay out of the fridge 🤩🤩

Cismyfatarse · 23/12/2024 18:08

Back today. Or early tomorrow.

biscuitsandbooks · 23/12/2024 18:08

About midnight? I wouldn't expect him back before 10pm, anyway.

Praise be to second husbands!
