Do I cancel? I’m in a flood of tears

Meeting three friends for dinner, one of them has fallen out with me but I thought things were now ok.

She’s arranged to meet the other two before our meeting place. I feel like just saying I’m too ill to go out.

Why?

Agree that finding out whether they're friends or foe is essential.

Because they sound like children?

Are you saying that on the group chat, which you are seemingly part of, this friend has overtly invited your other friends to meet early? Or has it been put in the chat just to meet early, and you could join them?

I thought schools had broken up for the holidays.

People of all ages can behave in unkind ways. But it sounds like you’re accusing the OP of being childish, when actually it would be reasonable to be hurt if what she’s describing is the case.

I suppose if OP can stop having feelings about hurtful behaviour, then she can ignore sly comments like this too? I’d tell you to grow up, but I suspect age isn’t the reason that you make these types of comments to strangers on the Internet.

It’s just all so dramatic, floods of tears? They should either go if they want to or don’t go if they would rather give it a miss but to be in floods of tears over this is an unusual reaction imo unless there’s an enormous back story OP hasn’t mentioned.

I hope so too. But if not, I also hope that she distances herself and spends time with friends that don’t make her feel this way, because life is too short for not doing that as well.
