AIBU to want the ‘Thanks’ button back?

Just that really!

I’m hating these new emojis. Hand 👏 to me means either well done or sarcasm and that gurning face for humour is positively terrifying.

Is it just me who is mourning the loss of the simple Thanks button?

@mnhq can we have it back, please?

To me thumbs up means agree.

I just don’t like it 😿

So there are emojis that work but you just don't like them. Thanks could also be construed as sarcasm

Am I the only person with the talk app on android??
It's so basic, there are no reaction options, each post colour is too similar to my post colour (purple and maroon), you can only see the OP replies by scrolling the whole thread, why is the app so iPhone centric? Very 2010 😁.

Why dont you use the mobile site?

Princessfluffy · 21/12/2024 10:28

I prefer thanks as the only option

I think I will give it a go.

I couldn't agree more @IlovePond . There's a thread running similar to this in 'site stuff,' and virtually everybody on it agrees that they hate the 'reactions' button.

All you need is a hugging/love emoji, and a thumbs up/like one. Or as you, and I, and many other people have said, just remove it altogether and put the 'thanks' button back.

Like I said on the other thread I sometimes get maybe 7 or 8 thanks on some posts, and I've even had other posts where I've had 15 to 20 thanks. (Most posters can probably say the same who post fairly regularly on here.)

But since this new 'reactions' button, about 85% of my posts are getting nothing, and the other 15% of my posts are getting one or two 'reactions' if I'm lucky ... because I think people just can't be bothered with them.

I find them a bit ridiculous, and I can't see anywhere on Mumsnet where anybody was actually asking for this feature. Can anyone post a link to a thread where someone was asking for a reactions button? Because I have NEVER seen anybody request it!

Also, no, I am not going to use the app/use Mumsnet on my mobile phone!
