AIBU to want the ‘Thanks’ button back?

I’m hating these new emojis. Hand 👏 to me means either well done or sarcasm and that gurning face for humour is positively terrifying.

Is it just me who is mourning the loss of the simple Thanks button?

The next change should be - you are unable to post until you have scrolled through each page of the thread. That'll cut out similar posts I reckon.

(disclaimer - I did not read to the last page so someone could very well have added this before me. Hence why we need it!)

The Thanks was one movement - just a click. The new one is pants so I'm not using it

It takes all of a second to use the new ones. I do love a bit of MN frothing whenever they update the site though.

I find it annoying you can't thank or react on the app. Why not? Seems odd not to have it on the app.

On my phone it's in the exact same position as the thanks button was, do you know why you're catching it more now? Were you perhaps also thanking posts without realising?

I can't see the reactions, but I get emails saying someone reacted, but have no idea whether it was good or bad....

Personally how are the emojis any different than the basic thanks

They should use the original emoticons. I don't think any of the newfangled emojis beat , and

I hate the old ones, especially the middle one. Silly little faces that gave me the rage.

I miss the Thanks too. Having the emojis just feels so impersonal (I get this is probably an age thing). Having someone say thank you felt really nice.

But I’ve just thanked you. The only thing that’s changed is there are more options.

It's so basic, there are no reaction options, each post colour is too similar to my post colour (purple and maroon), you can only see the OP replies by scrolling the whole thread, why is the app so iPhone centric? Very 2010 😁.
