A large hotel local-ish to us (around 10 miles away) is currently closed for bookings as it is being occupied by just under 400 asylum seekers.

Recently, in our village and a couple of neighbouring ones, there has been a spate of parcels being stolen from doorsteps. I’m sure you can all work out who has taken the blame for this….! Even though one of the perpetrators is known to be a local lad, born and bred in our village, some people are still blaming others..

The comments on Facebook community groups are disgusting.

Since when has it been acceptable to so readily stick the blame upon those literally fleeing their countries?

I honestly feel that as a human race, we are devolving.

Some English people always need someone to blame, just look at the history of this country. Meddle in other countries but cry when people come over here. Karma at its finest.

Did you see the video of the 'boat people' catching a swan to eat for their dinner? Horrific. We have a hotel full of them near us too and I happen to know the security guard of our local shopping centre, have a guess who the majority of shoplifters are.

Our local council recently house immigrants in a hotel at the bottom of our village and told no one they were doing it. Since then the police are having to be seen near the local primary and secondary schools because these men have been caught hanging around at the end of school taking photos of the kids. Some mums approached them and they ran off.
My daughter is 15 and we moved here so she could easily walk to and from school safely. Well that has come to an end and she now has to be collected as do a lot of the other children she knows that live in the area.
These men have been spotted hanging around watching houses it’s all very strange and unsettling.
To top it off parcels have started disappearing off doorsteps, a problem we didn’t have 2 months ago. So I can really understand your local peoples concerns.
Our once quiet village that children felt safe in is no more so give those locals a break they might have reasons to feel the way they do.

I am by all means saying they are all bad because I know some of the lads in the hotel have joined the local church and help with jobs. They do this because there is literally nothing to do and are miles away from town with no money. The village is the only place near the hotel which is in a main A road.

Instead of shouting racist at those making SM comments, maybe address their fears?
Housing? No 10 year wait for social housing
Homelessness? Only those old style 'men of the road', no hoards of homeless camped out, sofa surfing etc
Benefits? Heating or food is not a choice any need to make. Easy to get prompt help, easy systems to update to ensure accurate payment.
No food banks? not required.
Healthcare? Fully functioning, easy to get treatment, including dental.
Crime? No foreign nationals taking up prison places, those here are citizens everyone welcomes..
All incomers have the skills and income to benefit us.

Absolutely correct. These men aren't fleeing ? Where are the women? Children? Still there? Let's look at Ireland where 500 men are coming to a small town..nothing to do all day. Fighting age men. They are coming from a culture where women have no freedom. Coming from a religious state, not a democracy. What could possibly go wrong ? Other than everything. We Absolutely need migrants , they keep our economy going. Displaced young men ? No thanks.

As the OP said, it's a known fact that it's the "local scrote" who stole at least some of these items, so why shouldn't he get at least some of the blame? He's probably going to steal even more now he's got a "get out of jail free" card.

Is this "local scrote" even real, the OP has produced zero evidence of this, so it's all hearsay. Where as the fact our prisons are overrepresented with foreign nationals and we have more and more coming everyday with zero intelligence on their backgrounds ID or actual ages are a matter of fact.

It took me two seconds to find a research paper that answered your question name a which culture like that, the paper quite clearly covers that. Unless you dispute refugees of the culture named in the scientific paper do not come to the UK.
